  • A conversation with director, actor, and Oscar winning producer Tony Bill. He shares his insights on the directing process, working with an editor, and what directors should know before ever stepping foot on a set. We also discuss his transition from an actor to a successful producer, and eventually another transition into an accomplished television and feature film director. Tony Bill made his feature film directing debut with the classic 1980s teen dramedy "My Bodyguard". He is executive producing the remake of "Going in Style" directed by Zach Braff which Bill originally produced with Martin Brest in the late 1970s.
    Tony Bill made his screen acting debut opposite Frank Sinatra in "Come Blow Your Horn". He acted opposite Warren Beatty and Goldie Hawn in Hal Ashby's film "Shampoo". Tony Bill won the Oscar for "Best Picture", along with Michael Phillips and Julia Phillips, for "The Sting". He produced Martin Brest's debut film "Going in Style", "Hearts of the West", and Terrence Malick's first writing credit "Deadhead Miles". Other directing credits include: "Five Corners" Written by John Patrick Shanley. Starring Tim Robbins, Jodie Foster, John Turturro. "Untamed Heart" Written by Tom Sierchio. Starring Christian Slater, Marisa Tomei. Most recently, he directed "Flyboys" Starring James Franco and "Pictures of Hollis Woods" Starring Sissy Spacek.
