Seeing people in the comments I just want to say that the topic of wedding either arranged or love is not to be classified just black and white!
There are many examples of happily married couples both arranged and love marriage basis, whereas you can find many proving fallony of both these settings!
Rather then being way to radical towards any sides pray to god that what ever they way is the life turns out good for that couple.
Here very importantly I want to add that we have a generational gap with our parents so just thinking that they are somewhat stupid to not understand something that they have never though of is wrong, for me any kind of marriage it be the most important part is your parents being GENUINELY happy with your choice, you may argue it is your life and all but please not forget that they are the ones who gave you this life,
My cousin sister had a love marriage but never bad-mouth her parents ever for not being exceptive at early stage of her wedding process/process of putting things up for marriage, she was resilient and always asked my uncle and aunt to just meet the boy and get to know him well if they end up disliking him they will rethink, this impkrtance that the daughter gave to her parents made them meet jiju with a very open heart, accept him and now loving him more than anything!
And if someone has had bad childhood experiences with their parents all I can is to pray to god to make life easier for you, just giving you birth does not make anyone your parent, the amount of love, compassion, character and most importantly values they give you is what makes them a real parent!

I don't understand what parents think, if "adults" find someone who truly loves them and they know each other for like 6-7 years, it is wrong. But marrying a stranger who they know for at most 1 yr (they can hide their bad habits) is right.
