i hate those eagles with all my heart, thank you for this UPDATE: With the power of Defend+, Safe Guard, and Thorns, the eagles are cooked. Literally don't need to do anything to defeat them anymore, my high DEF deflects the attacks, and Thorns kills em overtime. Also, unrelated to my eagled HATRED, I learned how to SOLO floor 19, itemless. No items. 10 HP, 5 SP, and a whole lot of BP later, I did it. Mostly thanks to this video. New subscriber earned.
Honestly i didn't have many problems with them,i had more issues with those damn ants than the eagles I guess i just kinda suck at superguarding in any paper mario esque game,since i played thru paper mario ttyd relatively recently as well and if anything i did even worse with superguarding sooo...
Tip for solo to fight with statue (from my gameplay) : - Second turn ALWAYS use the guard to make - damage you take at lowest as possible - Dynamic is best source of damage you can do - You CANT counter but CAN dodge - Try to dodge much attack as you can - Before battle , equip safe guard if you can and store much item can heal and restore your SP as you can (before amount of damage it deal is HUGE) - Try to make success attack command since statue have 1 defend and will deflect attack with 1 or lower damage BONUS : + if you get in the pit : at floor 19 , you will have fight 4 statue -> Them can instant end your run if you cant dodge and blocking with safe guard That all and have fun !

I learn how to skip it by jumping on stone guy than jump on the invisible wall than jump off to the door to get to the black stone castle or just use the speed runner do and just enter it though the small hole in the door that he somehow can enter
Here's a headsup: Ranged Enemies can vary its timing. Depending on how far they are from the player. The closer they are: The quicker the timing. I've messed up so many times against a crossbow knight's delayed shot. Btw, it has two moves which it either attacks delayed or not (You can tell its pose when he reaches his arm out, that's an immediate attack.) Though I start to rely on sounds more than look at the screen to which someone could play the demo 1 of the game blindfolded. Kudos to you bud.
they should really split us and the enemies a bit more especially in multiplayer. I myself can't consistently superguard ranged enemies that are in front of me.
The general way you can really time the Dodges/Counters is by simply practicing and reading enemy movement and also the attack names. Crossbow Crony has two firing modes for Crossbow Fire, one where he immediately shoots a bolt and one where he waits a bit before firing. Same goes for Cruel King, Freezing Stab and Icy Stab are the same attack except with one having a smaller buildup to the attack, yet both still freeze if Unguarded The easiest to guard or super guard imo has to be Sentient Statue and Banished Knight. Sentient Statue spams the same attacks, and during his Unexpected Zooming you might accidentally Dodge perfectly. As for the stomping, those can be tricky to Dodge for me, thankfully it's move set is small so you can practice if you need to. Banished Knight has only one move, and attack pretty much immideately, no use sugarcoating this sentence, it's usually very easy to Counter them.

I don’t think i can do an in-depth on the guarding system just yet, I am yet to learn how blocking actually decreases damage. I’m assuming it’s a 50% decrease, rounded down because you can block 1 DMG altogether. The guarding system is pretty straightforward though, in my opinion. Superguard rewards precise blocks by negating damage altogether, while blocking is more lenient, but you take decreased damage. I’m hoping you could elaborate on what you’re requesting here, so I can take a look at it. If you want a separate video on the earliest frame you can block, I can do that as well. :) Cheers.
btw uh my advice for guarding the rat is to count 1 2 3 the moment the rat climbs on you and my advice for the ant the moment the ants stop moving for 0.3 mila second

Not sure if this is quite much related but Cruel King has two speed on Icy and Freezing Stab. I think it's fixed too whenever he performs these. First will be fast then slow.
The video shown is the earliest frame you can block. It isn't like "Yeah you gotta block at the exact frame or it will be a guard instead", there's also a time range of superblock as well.
All this time I could’ve been spamming the block button and super guard on command… Man that’s boring! Here’s how I learnt how to do it. It works perfectly in my head because autism, but I just look for the last frames of the attack. and use prior frames as a guide. Such is the four last frames in the first stump in the sentience statue attack. I hit the input on the third, and I use the fourth as the reference the second is like a reinforce I find sentence statue, pretty easy to dodge because of this plus there also animated in a different frame rate compare to other enemies I found.
During my run due to a bug i somehow completely skipped the statue boss. Like they said they were gonna fight me but then they just stood there and i was able to just walk past without fighting them.
One thing there is a bug that when you perfectly parry and punch the enemies sometimes they won’t die with no hp the only way is to hit it one more time
i hate the cheeky eagle the most, i tried to parry while the sharp mouth is touching my head but i got normal guarding not superguarding, i wasn't even use hard mode
The Statuettes has gotta be the most annoying to dodge. The Unexpected Zooming attack can be timed through sound cues But Double Slam has gotta have the tightest timing ever

yuh demo 1 was quite easy for me (despite being 11 years old i can react fast ) demo 2 boutta have more bossfights and the first one might just happen to be the venomshank (cuz icon in the account)
Its way too hard without any def/block pillar damage can ranged from 24-36dmg and even with block it damage still ranged from 9-12dmg i cannot survive past turn 4 f19 hardmode AAAAAAAAA

I learned all this out of muscle memory, and the sound effects greatly helped, especially against Floor 19 statues.

You can cheese that floor with 2 bottles of glue 2 magnifying glasses 4 or 6 bombs and the lucky and extra heath cards

spiky killbot also has a melee move that rams itself into your character, press block right when it touches you (like the eagle)

Sentient statue is hardest to block than cruel king
When i first played the game i expected the cruel king to be harder than the statue
I hate the sentient statues, I get yeeted if I don’t block the stomp correctly, and even if I survive, then mortal damage finishes me off, even if I have healing items, I had 15 hp, did I do my stats wrong?
I too have 15 hp and a lot of SP, can't get killed if they die first. You can also use defensive cards.

I hate the sentient statues.. I kinda have the worst reflexes so I just kinda spam my screen on mobile to block 😅 (doesn't work as well with the sentient statues)
The spamming thing is apparently a bug, so gotta get started on developing muscle memory
