Hey Florian, I just wanted to say thanks a ton for the Udemy tests/links you created -- they played a massive role in helping me pass the certification exam. Before I encountered your Udemy content, I was really struggling to identify my weak spots and develop a wise study plan. The links you provided were incredibly helpful and acted as a major game changer. Anyhow, I ended up passing with an 87%, which was incredibly thrilling. Truly appreciate the thoughtful content you provided!
Hello and thank you so much for your positive feedback, it means a lot to me. I am super happy to hear that you perceived the links as a game changer and that they helped you get on the right track! But, most importantly: Congratulations on passing the exam, even with such a solid score! 👏👏👏

Hello, Thanks so much for this video. I just started to learn. One small question, in the Spark Definitive Guide, I think it covers Apache Spark 2.0. Does it cause any difference with latest Apache Spark 3.0 (w.r.t to Certification exam)? Kindly suggest please.
Hello, congrats on starting your learning journey. I would definitely recommend focusing on Spark 3, it had some major architecture improvements that are also asked for in the exam. You can see major changes in this blog post: www.databricks.com/blog/2020/06/18/introducing-apache-spark-3-0-now-available-in-databricks-runtime-7-0.html

Hi Kumaresh, it sounds like you already have solid experience in the ETL world - so your starting point is definitely a good one. I would do the following: Find a Spark training course to see where you still have a knowledge gap. Then, once you feel ready, give the practice exams a try. I recently had one student who only practiced with the exams by reading the explanations and also passed. While this might be an exception, I think there is still good value in the explanations. Hope that helps and feel free to reach out with further questions!

@@sagaracoustics9943 from my experience the exam is relatively difficult in comparison to the Databricks Certified Developer for Apache Spark 3.0 exam. As you can also see on the exam page, Databricks wants you to know something about quite a lot of different topics. Different than in the Certified Developer exam, the Data Engineer exam requires quite an in-depth knowledge about Structured Streaming. Also, the Data Engineer exam asks you about topics that are specific to Databricks' product offering (e.g. version control integration). In the Certified Developer exam, you are asked about Spark features that are not unique to Databricks' product. I hope that helps a little.
