    The round is in fact so fast, it would not only surpass the escape velocity from earth, but from our solar system, that is if its balistics and materials are good enough not to vaporise and loose all its energy from aerodynamic drag.
    In fact, to aim this gun over very long distances you would need to point the gun downwards to make up for the centrifugal accelerationof the round as it travels around the earth.

    That cannon you talked about would have IMMENSE issue with shell shattering, even with a cap and ballistic cap it would likely nearly 100% of the time just shatter apon impact
    Edit: I almost forgot to mention that the post pen damage would be literally nonexistent and APHE variant shell would be able to exist from the issues with shell shattering on impact. So the shell shattering would only help with post pen damage

    • @Stardust_the_F-104C
      @Stardust_the_F-104C Год назад +6

      I wanna explain something here too. The tiger 1s and 2s had diffrent penitraters for thier shell as if you load a tgr 1 APHE into a tgr 2 cannon it 1. Wouldn't for because the kwk.43 88mm cannons had a longer shell length then the kwk.36 88mm even if you got a tgr1 aphe warhead onto a tgr2 propellant the tgr 1 shell head would shatter bc it's not suited to withstand such high impact loads, the tgr2s had a specialized shell head made so it wouldn't shatter. Likely along with a new APCR as well. The panzerkampfwagen 8, aka the maus has a secret APDS that likely used a tgr2 shell head and even then it had issues with shattering. A 128mm firing a 88 In a apds configuration would do that if you don't have it specialized to survive such impacts. It worked a bit like later HESH rounds but without any explosives, It shot a very soft 7.9 mm bullet at 1,275 m/s (4,180 ft/s)
    causing the armour plates inside the tank to be ripped of & bounce inside the tank.
    This AT Rifle was copied by the germans & later by the soviets in their "development" of the PTRD-41

    357mm pen? That's soundly in anti-ship range. HMS Audacious (1912) had 305mm in its main belt. The USS Missouri, which last sailed in 1992, and is the most recent American battleship, had 307mm at the waterline. This little 5.8t tank would be a mobile anti-ship gun.
    There would of course be issues with doing actual damage, IRL. Shock forces would obliterate the round instantly, and even if it could stay intact it would make a hole only around 1mm wide. You couldn't put any explosives in it, but the energy density would probably even go down if you tried.

    The gun you're talking about can not exist because the velocity of a projectile is limited by the expansion velocity of the burning gas wich is mostly around 5000fps or 1500m/s. The fastest excelaration for a projektile lies around 4000m/s with experimental rail guns.
    That's the reason why projectiles got bigger and bigger for tanks. Because the energy for a 20mm projectile at 1500m/s is limited and insufficient around 3"or 75mm of RHS.

    2:42 you are WAY off, for a projectile to be traveling at 48,000 m/s, (48 km/s) it would take roughly 2 hours to reach the moon, at a distance of 382,000 km/s. Time = distance/speed

    Make something like an ASU-57. That be hilarious if it had stupidly fast reload speed xD

    its not a laserbeam, its a plasma cannon, i bet that ammunition would go so fast it would vaporize and hit the target as extremely high velocity plasma.

    Penetration should be high but damage should be tiny.

    Can you please make a 10-30 min tutorial for freeform shaping? I played this game for weeks now and still could not work out the kinks and possibilities that freeform gives.
    Also I want you to have a take on building a latewar era fast MBT
    Requirements:
    =< 40t
    Top speed >60kph (with acceptable acceleration)
    Protection rated for long 88 of Tiger II
    Main gun >= 90mm

    You should take a look at your capture settings, the grass makes the whole video very bitcrushed, it could be something fixed by just changing the level of detail though.

    8 minutes for light from earth to reach the moon? WTF? It only takes just over 3 minutes for a signal from Earth to reach MARS! I think those numbers may be a tad off.

    Theoretically a m4 mounted in a apc could count as the main guns for the apc.
