paint changes colors as it ages with sun. that leftover paint was most likely the original color so it might be best to just paint the whole ceiling so that its all the same.

I have similar feelings about Ann Patchett! The books that I’ve read from her have been quiet character studies with very little plot, but there’s something so compelling about her writing that they’re hard to put down. I recently read and loved her newest book, Tom Lake. I’d highly recommend the audiobook, which is narrated by Meryl Streep.

I think your ceiling just needs a full repaint. What probably happened is the paint they used faded over time or has been discolored (candle use can tint your paint!) so it no longer matches (or it separated in the can). The best thing to do is just do a full repaint lol

I dissected The Poisonwood Bible so thoroughly in school that I don’t think there’s a single book I know with more granularity. There are parts of Ada’s chapters, like the William Carlos Williams reference, that opened my mind to writing as a craft.

The paint situation - from what i have been told, by multiple professional painters that we've hired, if you touchup an area, it will be noticeable regardless
if it's the correct color. We were told you need to paint the entire wall or ceiling so those "marks" won't show. It has something to do with how "old" the paint job is. When we moved into our current home that is 15+ years old, my son's room looked like your ceiling and the painter we hired was like yeah, that's what touch ups will do. Probably not what you want to hear, but thought I'd share my experience with repainting an entire house recently

Re: 1998: If you haven't read Paradise by Toni Morrison, I would definitely recommend that one. I have seen 1997 and 1998 for publication years. It's an absolute fave of mine and one of her lesser mentioned books. First line: "They shoot the white girl first. With the rest they can take their time." Obviously, it explores themes of violence against women. Also, I recommend Trash Lands by Alison Stine (not 1998, just your trope) as a quiet dystopian. The themes on safety of women in society and the threats of materialism for future generations are expertly explored.

Hi ! I work at home depot, and I think you should return those paint cans (tell the service desk it’s the wrong color for your ceiling, they’ll take it back no prob. We take returns and tint them then put it on an oops shelf at a discounted price so it won’t go to waste) then take like a dime or quarter size paint chip off your ceiling and get a color match! It’s nearly impossible to match it the way you’re doing haha trust me and best of luck to fixing your ceiling !! You can look up videos about how to smoothly take out a paint chip :)

If you're still looking for a solution for your ceiling, I think if you can take a little chip of your ceiling and bring it to the paint store or where you get your paint and see if they can color match it off of the chip. I feel like that way it can be the closest to the current color. But it also might be easier to repaint the whole ceiling.

I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb for 1998. His character studies are amazing. Also, Romy and Michele does not get enough love! A classic!!
