I actually bought these exact calipers about a month ago. Aside from swapping out the battery once already (which I expect to do with any electrical device) I have loved these. I also was upgrading from the HF set.
I bought a caliper extremely similar to this one (I'd bet good money they were made in the same factory) and I'm very pleased with it too. My advice is buy two when you buy - I hesitated and they were no longer available. Most enjoyable video Rob, loved the outro music.
Your HF caliper needs adjustment. I suspect the two set screws that take the play out of the movable beam are loose and allow it to rotate a bit with respect to the fixed beam as you clamp down to measure. I have one and it performs so well that I reserve my Mitutoyo for things like critical motor work and such. Don't be afraid to dig into it. I bet you will bring it back to life. I can't live without calipers within reach all the time.
Excellent review, Rob! Thanks! 😃 I already lost a digital caliper because the battery leaked... So I keep mine without it. I only insert the battery when I need to use it. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
The electronic ones crap out on me all the time. Either that, or the battery dies when I need it the most, and my backup battery is always dead also. I've decided to only go with dial calipers from here on out and I've never regretted my decision.
I just wish I could get a cheap imperial dial caliper in the UK. It's all metric or £120+. I don't mind metric, but all my own work I do in imperial, so it's awkward to swap between them constantly.
LOL, who uses the ID chart? I just take the open OD/external jaws to my bit set like I did w/the analog calipers of old. Do any of these have the nifty computer interface under the slide cover that the HF ones do? Occasionally useful.
Hey, loved the caliper with fraction option. Ordered one via your link, code did not work and also the caliper I received via Amazon did not have the fraction readout! Sent back no problem but I wonder if they are no longer available? Thanks and hope you can enlighten me. Love your helpful videos. Stay well.
I have never expected a Horror Freight tool to give me the precision to build nukes ,maybe you should have returned to Horror Freight to get one that does have all the functions ? I buy the $8-10 from Amzn caliper, never had any issues ,but again I am not building nukes . Great review ! Thanks
Hi, thanks for sharing. How do you find the battery lasting ability another reviewer reviewed it and even when you turn it off, it still draws current so that could be an issue.
Does it use a battery? If yes, where is it located? With my other calipers the door for the battery frequently falls off and is lost. Is this the case with the Qfun?

The small arm that extends out the bottom is excellent for a depth gauge.

I bought a cheap digital one that won't work any more, I too use a dial caliper and it's been great.

What a fantastic review. Am definitely doing some online shopping. Thank you for the video!👍👍👍
Thank you for the discount code option. Very nice video. Take care from Charles
Nice video Rob! Thanks for sharing it with us!😎💖👍JP
All the cheap ones seem to get sloppy with use.
Could be internal grit wears them out.
Maybe clean them prior to use.
