Synopsis: On December 8, 1941, the Pearl Harbor incident shocked the world. American journalist Garson, who was in possession of top-secret information such as the minutes of the peace talks between Japan and Chiang Kai-shek, was seriously injured during the breakout. He hid in the home of American doctor Harman in a mission hospital and sought help from the US government through Harman. The U.S. government entrusted the Kuomintang authorities to rescue Garson. In order to curry favor with the U.S. government and obtain its economic and military assistance, the Kuomintang sent a secret service team including Liu Jianfeng and Tao Kan to Shanghai to rescue Garson, but secretly sent senior spy Chen Yutai.
