Great video, Owen.👍 The ultrasonic cleaning removed a LOT. ✅ I thought you were testing Liqui Moly ATF cleaner on your automatic transmission car! The Results would be very interesting!
Thank you Steven! The ultrasonic cleaner solution turned dirty so fast, but it is only as good as the chemicals you put in it. I would have used rustoleum rust remover but I don’t think it is safe for plastics, works amazing on rusty metals though. Since the power steering system uses ATF I figured an ATF cleaner might clean up the system, but it wasn’t that dirty apparently. Stay tuned the correct usage of the ATF cleaner soon!
Make sure your power steering system uses ATF. *Liqui Moly Top Tec ATF 1100* : amzn.to/45rayO3 *Liqui Moly 20284 Power Steering Oil Stop Leak* : amzn.to/3sjPxGr
I used Simple Green - SMP13406 Extreme Aircraft and Precision Cleaner in an ultrasonic cleaner. It wasn't perfect with a stain remaining by the cap though. You might want to look for a plastic safe cleaner to fill the reservoir with when you remove it from the vehicle. Use a pipe cleaner and a brush to get it spotless.
Are these just expensive for your vehicle, or was this more for the fun of it? Genuinely feeling curious as most power steering reservoirs are only like $8-$15 new
@@OwenLucas wow, makes a lot more sense than, I know my Honda has a screen built into it so they recommend replacing the reservoir when replacing fluid. It was $7 and change for a aftermarket Dorman which looked identical.

I usually run seafoam in the system for a few days, sometimes with cheap atf as a flush flush. Then refill with amsoil signature series (red label).
Is 12oz (355ml) of Liqui Moly power steering stop leak enough for Audi Q7 2012?
Is 35Ml of Liqui Moly Power Steering Oil Leak Stop enough for Audi Q7 2012?
straight to the point.
I need to know which type of chemical to use to clean my plastic reserve tank.

Yes they are pretty expensive for. A 19 year old car. Oddly a new reservoir for a 2005 Scion tC is over $150 OEM, even the after market units are $80.

@@GainingDespair Definitely the better option to replace it for $7!
1:43 -1:46 nice rotation of the oil cap (I believe that's what it is). You might want to check that out, cause that's not normal.
Yeah, I did not tighten the cap from the last oil change, looks funny in the timelapse!
Thumbs up for the old school vomit-smell Craftsman screwdriver
😅
