INNIN (陰忍)
Dark Ninjutsu (also known as: Innin-jutsu and In-jutsu): This is spying and performing espionage out of the vision of your target. Generally camouflaged, wearing black, hiding within cover and staying in the shadows.

YONIN (陽忍)
Light Ninjutsu (also known as: Yonin-jutsu and Yo-jutsu): This is spying and performing espionage in the vision of your target. Generally in disguise under a false persona, walking through the crowds and interacting with people gathering information.

In this video I discussed a historical text called the Bansenshukai. This text is originally written in 1676 by Fujibayashi Yasutake. Along with the historical text, I also used a modern translation of this text called: The Book of Ninja, written by Antony Cummins and Yoshie Minami by Watkins Publishing; copyright 2013
.
This lesson is directly for the practitioners of the ancient Japanese koryu martial arts of the ninja and samurai, such as ninjutsu (ninpo) and bujutsu (budo).

Love your videos Anshu. I can't really train ninjyutsu at my age, but I can still practice black magic. So I find your videos even more interesting because we know ninja were also spiritual warriors. Not just pawns in some warlords agenda. In books I read about ninja training, I learned about how ninja used " magic " and human perception as tactics. Not simply going to war and destroying them on the battle field.
Here is an example. A ninja might have used psychology to damage the enemy psyche to sway the favor of the battle one way or another. Giving the ninja warrior almost god like power. Sort of.😅

So if one were practicing this art to defend one's house, for instance, but were outside at night scouting any potential dangers or threats ( we live in dangerous times) would that be pure Innin? or a mix?

its just combat centric, thats why they renamed it taijutsu. they deal with weapon training as well as combat proficiency and conditioning

Yes, they do. After Black belt you will learn a lot about the spiritual part of the art, how to control your self from inside and things like that
