Agreed. If it had been me in that situation, I'd like to think taking the time to even cut small slices off the butt end after it was "floating", would have continually lightened the "load" resting on the seat, and small pieces would have been easier to get out of the way. Leave your roll bar up it’s supposed to only go down to fit in a garage use common sense a bit ridiculous that people like you can even buy a tractor when you don’t even have the common sense to use one
Dead trees are a death trap waiting to spring on someone. My uncle was sawing a big big dead tree of the side of his house and had his son in law pulling at it with a tractor. He jerked the tree when it was ready to go over and limbs the size of small trees fell on him breaking his femur and leaving him unconcious. Also he fell against a farm tractor attachment which punched a hole in his skull. This happened right after my dad arrived to spend his birthday their in the mountains. He heard the saw stop and went to see him and there he was. Dad thought his brother was dead. He started sawing limbs off him and got him free. He found a place level enough for life flight to land and guided them in when they arrived.
A few years back before I had a RUclips channel I was on my 1961 so your Suburban Garden Tractor Pulling a big heavy trailer and guess what the trailer was too heavy the tractor popped a 180 rolled on top of me and pin me down and almost killed me but I prayed to God and luckily I was able to get myself out from underneath it I yelled for help for nearly 20 minutes straight and nobody came
This is what happens when guys try to push over trees with small tractors. Another mistake was cutting off the base (heaviest part on ground)...would have been better to cut down from the top.
Note rotten root ball... I am seeing so many dead Ash trees no roots holding giant tree up with no support. Wind or something pushes tree over . No weight to that timber hardly any damage. A live one would have crushed machine and Rops bars
good to see you did not get hurt,,, but all the comments about he ROPS this and the ROPS that is laughable,,, these people do not understand simple physics if the ROPS was in place and in the upright position the weight of that thre would have destroyed the ROPS and likely would have destroyed the the transaxle.. a 2 inch ROPS is not designed to take that hit.. here is looks like you are only replacing the seat... dumb luck,,, maybe but somethings its just not our time

@Eric Draper I'm guessing he didn't have his seatbelt on? If I'm sitting in my tractor seat with my seatbelt on (and I'm 6 ft.5 in.) there is no way my head can stretch that far to be trapped between the roll bar and an object.
First rule in the bush - consider all dead trees unstable. And maybe go back to cutting grass with that lawnmower
Glad your ok, crap happens
Leave your roll bar up it’s supposed to only go down to fit in a garage use common sense a bit ridiculous that people like you can even buy a tractor when you don’t even have the common sense to use one
My Rops are always up. Never had a situation were I need them down and would never take them off.
At least hes brave enough to show the World what happens when you aint thinking .
Dead ash, won't go near them... ROPS up bro... Glad you survived it!
Ouch
is that the only way you can get a deere?
Usually most Deere run when a tree falls😆😂.
Big tree, little tractor,I'm glad you are OK someone is looking after you.
Had you had the roll bar up and in place , the tree may not have landed on your seat.
I work in forest with my 1025 and there are plenty of widow-makers and limbs that have hit it. Expect the unexpected 😅
Wheres the top of the ROPS?
That tree was dead and there was nothing holding it in the ground. It was just waiting to fall.
A few years back before I had a RUclips channel I was on my 1961 so your Suburban Garden Tractor Pulling a big heavy trailer and guess what the trailer was too heavy the tractor popped a 180 rolled on top of me and pin me down and almost killed me but I prayed to God and luckily I was able to get myself out from underneath it I yelled for help for nearly 20 minutes straight and nobody came
You should have your ROP on at all times. this would have saved the seat and such or even you if you was on it at time..
Very nice work! 👍👍📹🌳🌳🌿🍀
Looks like a dead Ash tree? We've lost all our Ash because of the Ash Borer Beatle.
Helps the used tractor market. Emerica!
This is what happens when guys try to push over trees with small tractors. Another mistake was cutting off the base (heaviest part on ground)...would have been better to cut down from the top.
Looks like you're a stickler for safety gear (not)🧐
lots of safety sense here which likely had some influence (?) on the tree disaster.
Note rotten root ball...
I am seeing so many dead Ash trees no roots holding giant tree up with no support.
Wind or something pushes tree over .
No weight to that timber hardly any damage.
A live one would have crushed machine and Rops bars
You should go buy a power ball ticket , your a really lucky guy
Just used his luck
Don’t you dare say you were lucky, what you have here is an example of God’s grace.Credit where credit is due.Glad you are okay!
Oh wow you are very lucky!
Now at least you have a recliner seat.
Sure was a pucker factor moment & I can see where it was a accident waiting to happen, because the tree its self was not rotten, just the roots
Ash trees are killers
I am a lucky survivor as well
Dammit TOMMMEH
As the old saying goes, cats have 9 lives, you Sir have just 8 more lives. Be safe out in the woods. happy u are ok..
good to see you did not get hurt,,, but all the comments about he ROPS this and the ROPS that is laughable,,, these people do not understand simple physics if the ROPS was in place and in the upright position the weight of that thre would have destroyed the ROPS and likely would have destroyed the the transaxle.. a 2 inch ROPS is not designed to take that hit.. here is looks like you are only replacing the seat... dumb luck,,, maybe but somethings its just not our time
Thank you that’s exactly what I said
Agreed Chris, there were a lot of idiot comments on this video, people just like to mouth off on the net because they know there isn't a real person to slap them silly. If the tree just fell, it just fell, the poster was in a bad position. As another RUclipsr though, that thumbnail is golden🤣🤣. However, I wouldn't have wanted to go through what he did to get it obviously, but yeah, it looks like a new seat and the tractor runs fine.
You were extremely lucky.
Now you know what a ROPS bar is for. Why is it off? Don't say it won't fit in my garage. I know you know it folds down to get in a garage. I know what to blame it on.
It's probably in the way to sit and operate the backhoe attachment.
@@tdkreg but he wasn't operating the backhoe . I owned a 1025r and I'm 6'2" and the rops was not a problem when operating the backhoe . Unless you've owned a 1025r you don't have a clue.
@@kipcudd7253 You don't have to be a jerk! I've had a lot of experience with these roll bars and they tend to hit things and stand you on your rear wheels. In this case it would have been good, but most of the time you have it off.
@@tdkreg I'm 67 and been on tractors and other heavy equipment all my life and I've seen many accidents before rops were invented and after. I just hate somebody getting hurt because they didn't take the time to think ahead and be safe. Many have got in to big of a hurry. So I'm a jerk for wanting others to be safe. You don't know me and yes I don't know you but if you've seen the horrible accidents I've seen you'd feel the same way.
Sure seems like the ROPS bar would have deflected it. Never felt the need to remove mine. Glad he managed to get out of the way.
Hope you got the extended warranty!
Wow! You got lucky
Good thing the roll bar worked😵
Widow Maker
Well on the positive side you didn't bend the hydraulic cylinder on the backhoe. Glad you're okay.
I was going to comment but I will refrain. My grandma told me that if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all!
Please tell me you weren't trying to push that tree over with a machine that size.
Sometime, when you have a minute, take a look at a picture of a "dead-fall trap", ... because when you stuck that prop under that log, that's just what you created.
No Rollover Bar? So that’s why
Holy crap
Great job posting this vid.
If you didn't thank those watching over you in your prayers before.
I'd sure as hell be doing it from now on.
DAM YOU GRAVITY
🤪😲🤯
Things like this only happen to other people....
I immediately saw we were dealing with true professionals when grown men where wearing shorts with boots!!!!
Please hire Men to do this kind of work for you Alice's from now on. This is shameful
There are times to get help. You needed another larger loader tractor to lift it off.
