The Animal Kingdom pins used to have a dragon on them because originally Disney was planning on having an area of the park themed to mythological/ fantasy creatures. 😊

Love the Spaceship Earth pin! AK was originally supposed to have a land for fantasy animals-Beastly Kingdom. I’m still bitter it never happened! Also, road trip to the Syracuse Zoo! It made national news when they had twin baby elephants born! They’re sooooo cute!!

Spaceship earth pin is my fav today. So epic. The animal kingdom logo used to have maleficent on it until they took her dragon off. Not sure when. 🤷♂️

The Dory and Friends booklet is a free scavenger hunt book that you can complete after the nemo ride in the aquarium. Once you find the fish you're looking for on a certain page, you pace the sticker on its silhouette.

Yeah, animal kingdom was going to have an area for fantasy animals as well as real. And extinct animals. So the dragon was originally on the logo . Construction of the real animals was longer than expected . So as time to open was near they decided to hold off with plans to expand once they were open. Sadly that didn't happen, until Pandora kinda . Great pins

Yay for muppets pins! the king louis pin is adorable. the Epcot 30th pin is amazing!!! LOVE the animal kingdom pin. I need more pins of the parks. teh dragon is from the "beastly Kingdom" that was part of the original drawings of Animal Kingdom. they were going to have mythical and cryptids creatures.... they didn't do it.... Pandora was created instead...
It was a great haul! I agree that you need more pins of the parks - I'm always here to encourage friends to grow their pin collections, hehe!
how do you guys end up not rebuying or retrading these when you don't open them for so long?? 😂 I can barely keep straight what I've done in the last month. I had to go look up the dragon thing. 😊 Apparently the original designs accounted for animals that exist, animals that used to exist and then fantasy animals. There was supposed to be a Beastly Kingdom. Who knew!??
