  • Clip from my friend's unpublished early 2000's head end video on an NJT Port Jervis Line train as it runs westbound between the Mittletown and Otisville stations. This section of the line is part of the Graham Cutoff. The original passenger main line alignment would meet the Graham Line at Howells Jct, which today is the east end of the double track segment that runs to CP-OV at Otisville. Note the classic Erie RR cantilever signal at CP-HOWELLS and two classic Erie RR bracket intermediate signals on the double track segment.

    This is a very bumpy ride. I had to look away after a few minutes to avoid getting dizzy or nauseous.

    The abandoned overpass is."4 Story Junction where the NYO&W main line crossed over the Grahm Line. Thy he switch is the interchange with the Middletown & New Jersey which was required when the old Erie mainline through Middletown was abandoned so the interchange could no longer be effected in Middletown.

    0:20 is a bit scary seeing a person in front while in full throttle, more so it was the conductor walking on the pilot when the train was moving. Must have held on well. Best part right after "he ain't qualifying, he's a buff!"

      Camera probably wasn't mounted too steadily. Does look like a rough rider though.

    I thought it was Metro North on this part of the line. Was it run with NJT equipment?

    • @PositionLight
      @PositionLight  6 лет назад +3

      The service is run under contract. MNRR equipment works in a pool with NJT equipment.
