Photos fully dressed and photos on the floor look great, the studio is incredible! I might have tried to shoot closer to the windows, maybe have her interact with the window, the model did not seem to know what to do with her hands so it would have been a good idea to give her maybe a cup of coffee, a book, or a newspaper to hold or anything to make her pose more naturally. While all photos look technically great, nice composition, nice colors and contrast, I think that what could be improved a little bit is to try to make them tell a story. As for the 85mm lens, maybe just use it to frame as a portrait, not necessarily have the full body in frame.

Thanks for the feedbacks, the ideas you gave are amazing, but to be fair, I am the one who is not good at telling a story, the model was good with her hands 😅 Also for the 85mm obviously, I can take portraits or headshots with, which is the reason I bought it in the first place. But I am not a huge fan of making portraits or closeups, I am more of a half body or full body type of photographer 🤭

@@fmarjanephotography You are already a greatly accomplished photographer. But yes, directing a model is just another completely different thing. I am not really great at that as well, but I am sure that it is something that is improvable. Thank you as well for sharing your honest approach to model photography.

I don't understand how the backgrounds are still quite sharp when you are shooting at f1.4.

The amount of background blur is not only about the f stop. The distance of the subject relative to the lens and the background are as important as the f stop, that's why sometimes you manage to get blurred background with an f4 or f6. The focal length is also as important 2.8 on 200m will give you more thana 1.2 on 24mm 😊

Lovely model, great studio and light. In general models don't like to be touched. Some of them create a 1-arm-length exclusion perimeter around them. Doing so will encourage young photographers do the same and this is not a good example. If you need to correct the pose, use the MUA or stylist for this. Keep the behind the scenes coming.

I agree with your points, however as you mentioned, this differs from one model to another. In my case, I always ask my model in advance if I can adjust her hair or pose before doing so. This was the case here, and I discussed this point in my previous BTS. I am a one-man team and don't have the luxury of having a MUA, Stylist, or assistant to help me adjust the model's hair or pose... My friend, consent and asking for permission are the keywords here 😊

Maybe some models are so professional that they always know how to pose. I don’t have much experience and sometimes, if I want the perfect photo results, I ask how to pose and if photographer can help me position myself. It was my request, so I don’t see a problem. Faycal is a professional photographer and knows the rules, and I only participate in such sessions. Maybe it happens very often in this world, but not where I or Faycal participate.

@@fmarjanephotography It is true that asking permission is the right way to go BUT the only thing we (outsiders) see is fast-forward motion and no asking 😉
