3:10 I feel like this save is underrated. All the other chefs are standing around looking confused while Gordon yells at the guy who started it and this dude calmly walks up and stops the fire with ease.
And then he goes to check if it's still there and when it's still roaring he's just like "nope" and puts it back on.
I've never thought Bryant was a good chef but after seeing that save maybe I'm wrong.
@@bondfall0072 He was like "This fire is not ready" 😅
@@Perceptence It's easy to theoretically know that's what you do, it's much harder to react that quickly on the fly in a very stressful situation with flames blazing in your face.
Man didn’t even blink, what a legend
Even fire is afraid of Gordon.
Yes it was like that for sure
I’d put myself out. I don’t wanna be yelled at.
Unbelievable grown men who say their chef wannabes, can't deal with a flame/fire. Chef Ramsey has probably hundreds+. As a know it all little boy my Mummy!! Rammed it into me.. yes you can start cooking well done but damp clothes kills any Oil based fire's!! I was 9.. you'd think it should be second nature for a chef wannabes.

Fire: Sorry chef.

Yes.
This is a perfect example of how much Gordon cares. He doesn’t let them potentially burn themselves on the fire, he moves them out of the way and puts it out with no injuries
they just get in the way blocking him put it out easily staring at it.
They had their fingers up their asses. It was let them burn the kitchen down or do it himself. And risk getting sued
He's got more experience with the fast pace so it's easier for him to keep his nerve and move quickly without panicking.
Because they don't know what the fuck they're doing.
Insurance🤷🏾♀️
3:13 I find it funny how he just lifted the lid, processed how the fire was still there, and put the lid back on
I mean it is a reasonable time to think that he had killed the oxygen to the fire. But I do like that as soon he lift to see and there is still fire, he just put the lid back down
That's pretty normal actually.
@@Danspy501st Except that lid was too big for the pan to begin with meaning even a tiny amount of oxygen was still getting to the flame to feed it thus keeping it alive, plus it was still on the damn burner which was adding indirect fuel to the flame to keep it alive, that's like trying to put out a fire with gasoline expecting it to work because it's a liquid, not all liquids work like water when it touches fire.
The man is freaking fireproof.
He takes care of all burnouts in the kitchen. He touches boiling hot equipment and doesn't feel it
Hell the man practically creates fire with how angry he can get.
when you get used to it and your fast and worked with flames he gets close to them and ain't scared so he can get rid of them with ease. its like a person whos never frys something spitting oil stands back but a chef wont move away since there used it it.
I believe that
I'm not a chef but i work in food service and yea eventually you lose feeling in u your fingers... As long as Gordon has been doing this he must have burnt all his nerve endings by now
@@rafthethinker4948 actually onebof the cooks burned ramseys hand twice by giving him a sauce pan that had the handle over the heating plate making it blazing hot
There's a scene where gordon actually burns himself for touching a hot pan on hell's kitchen because one chef forgot to tell it was hot
I cringe every time one of these chefs tries to put out a fire by blowing on it. There are a few different ways to put out a grease fire...
Blowing on it ain't one of them.

@@smokeypeanuts9559 Maybe then, my grandpa teached me a trick to make fires grow more intense by throwing salt or sand on it, but it's on campfires or charcoal grills, that's why I found it a bit weird for him to say to throw salt on it
@@Bards.98 I know you do that for electrical fires, especially in spots like inside a toaster.
If you don't have large cloth or towel to smother the flame, putting salt on it works just fine. Keep in mind that this is only for grease fires. Grease fires are only dangerous if not put out quickly and safely, or if somebody makes a mistake and throws water on it. Then your screwed.

I find 3:10 absolutely amazing. The guy puts the lid on, takes it off again and I'm actually impressed how Gordon didn't show a single fraction of shock when those flames started again right next to him but just looked annoyed and done at it. He put "stay calm" to a whole new level. When it happens to me I know how to do it as well, but there's at least a bit of shock and the automatic reflex to move away from the flame. He had none of that.
Sterling is definitely one of my favourite competitor in all of hell’s kitchen. He certainly won our hearts.
Yes I agree

1:30 gotta love how the chef's reaction to a fire in the kitchen is to put it out by seasoning it with table salt

One thing I've learned from Gordon Ramsay is always do things the right way the first time even if it takes longer than you feel it should, I'd rather someone be mad about waiting then be happy after they taste the food then having a customer have to send it back and wait longer. I think this lesson can be implemented in many aspects of life and I strongly believe he got where he is today from having that drive and mentality.
I like how ramsay doesn't swear loud enough so the kids can hear it. Proves he really cares about the kids XD

I do not blame chef Ramsay
genuine question: how do so many of these chefs, most who went to culinary school or had some level of formal of culinary education, not know how to put out a fire??? is it just........... not something they teach in school? LMFAO
like I'm nowhere close to a professional chef but I've known how to put out a stove flame since I was a child?

Also they are very stresses for obvious reasons and your mind might tunr off for a few seconds under pressure
The first thing my High School cooking teacher taught us was how to put out fires
I learned in high school
I've had the fire triangle drilled into me every place I've worked, even in a garden centre. You'd hope in the place fire is most likely to start that people are shown how to put it out

@@nicom4996 really? That's one of the first things you learn here in Germany (well, at least where I learned cooking)! Even in school we had those "firefighter-days" where a firefighter came to our school and told us what to do if we have an oil-fire.
