For christmas a buddy of mine got me a bottle of this, it's batch C919.. and a little stronger (136.8 proof?)
But letting it breathe is key. Definitely a sipper on a cold night.
Bought this one about two months ago. And can honestly say it was the shortest lived bottle I've had to date. It lasted about a week and a half. And at its price point I didn't feel the need to make it last. Top shelf taste, budget price. Hella cambo. Good stuff.

i have a bottle. batch B520. 127 proof. i absolutely love Elijah Craig. Small Batch was my first bourbon and this only made me love the brand even more

I've always been more into scotch, but lately I've been trying bourbon. Definitely going to give this one a try. Genuinely enjoy how you know enough to give some solid advice, but you aren't pretentious with your whisky and cigar preferences, awesome stuff Jeremy thank you.
The whisky pour is similar to pouring wine. Rotate the bottle 90 to 180 degrees as the final drops are pouring out and that will help with the drippage.

Was listening to this in the car today. Decided to go buy it. Your tasting notes are good. As for the drips when you pour, twist the bottle as you finish, like wine. This should fix it. I really enjoy your channels, you have given me lots of great ideas as I do things around my house.

I agree with your Heaven Hill statement, I love most of their products. Elijah is very peppery and spicy, love it. I prefer their 100 proof Bottled In Bond on an ice cube, but yeah! Great video. Love watching your content brother
Jeremy, the pouring is all about gravity. Your bottle is turned slightly upward when you stop pouring. When you tilt the bottle downward to pour, turn and tilt simultaneously as u stop pouring. Then, you will remove the drip. :)
Great vid. My buddy picked me up a bottle of this when I retired from the Corps, and it is now my favorite weekend drink to go with my Camacho. I've got batch A120, and its 136.6 proof, and man its got some kick.
I just bought a bottle of this and it is really good! I thought I was buying the normal Elijah Craig but this was a very good surprise!
I purchased a 750 ml of the Elijah Craig Small Batch ( EC) along with a 750 ml of my go-to Gentleman Jack (GJ). No booze errand is complete without a six of Lone Star the "National Beer of Texas". The EC was a couple of bucks more than the GJ. At first look the EC has a deeper and richer coloration along with labeling that this bottle was 94 proof a 14 pt rise over GJ. I did as recommended letting the pour sit for a couple of minutes. The nosing produced a slight burn to my nostrils and the first sip a burn to the lower lip. After three sips I no longer noticed any stringency at all. I could not detect any specific flavors but the complexity of the aroma and taste were evident and pleasing. After two pours I felt a slight headache so I believe I will carry on with GJ as my favorite but will take a bottle of EC along for my hosts on the annual Texas Hill Country Spring Turkey Hunt. My thanks to the show.

letting your neat spirit sit... what is happening is that alcohol is calming but, perhaps more importantly, the juice that was allowed to dry on the glass gives off a lot of aromatics. I thank the good folks at napa valley distillery for proving this to me via a neat trick. Pour a small glass... swirl it a bit to coat the glass then drink it... then let the glass air dry and nose the empty glass... try it!

I've always thought ole' Lijah is one of the biggest bourbons on the market. No matter what you pair it with it's going to overpower it. It's hot, a hot pistol!
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is always a solid choice, and B519 is definitely great. Have a couple bottles of that batch.
With the pour drip, I usually wipe it up with my hand and give it a smell first before I put my nose to the glass
I have not had the barrel proof yet. I agree the small batch is really good especially with a cigar with a cigar. Looking forward to getting the barrel proof some day. Long ashes to you in the next video.

That’s one regret that I always had....l wish I had kept a journal since I started with whiskey 2008 ....my whiskey buddy can never remember what we’ve experienced....and there have been so many......early in those days we were to get all of the antique collection Buffalo trace in abundance...I would say 30 bottles we purchased plus a pappy ...hence ...I wish I would have kept a journal !!!!! Now that I can’t whiff any of the antiques anymore .....Elijah Craig barrel proof is the next best thing at a great price...one my favorites

I’m not too familiar with whiskey but on that pour comment you said, on the buffalo trace as well as a couple other brands, there’s a bubble in the neck and I feel like that helps slow down the pour and maybe avoid drips

Man I just love your channels! Very informative, you’ve got me wanting to try bourbon. Have a napkin on hand to wipe the drip, it’s almost impossible not to spill a couple of drops when you’re done pouring.
Unfortunately, I JUST got into cigars and I am 20 years old. They just made a 21 Tobacco law around the entire US... Which sucks! I guess I'll have to wait until next year to start enjoying all of these wonderful delicacies.
If you twist the bottle before you lift it up you'll achieve a drip free pour! 😊
By the way, really enjoy your Barrel reviews, no longer smoke cigars, but stuck with my Bourbon/Rye vice so will definitely be following your barrel reviews!

I've been drinking nothing but the regular Elijah Craig for years, and have not had the Barrel Proof yet, I'm going to need to check it out.
You recommended Woodford to me about a month ago for my introductory bottle. I am hooked and have since bought Buffalo Trace, Early Times BIB, won a 1.75 of Eagle Rare in a raffle and the girlfriend just picked up an Old Weller Antique and Special Reserve in OK. This whiskey shit is fun AND tasty!! LOL Thank for your help

Could try turning (rotating) the bottle at the very end of the pour. It’s a wine thing, not necessarily a man thing.
Always tend to fuck up "The Pour" as it happens to the best of us. "The Pour" is a magnificent skill which is yet to be conquered.
My birthday was just yesterday and although I keep setting out to find the Henry mckenna 10 you've talked about its really hard to find in my area so I grabbed up the Elijah Craig small batch not realizing I was really looking for this bottle here ( Barrel Proof ) and being I'm completely new to this territory and trying to learn about Bourbons from ya I did think it was smooth but taking bigger swallows like the rookie I am that shit burned lol lol. Gonna have to find this bottle and try it , really diggin your channel and your knowledge budz. Keep it up !!!

I opened this up Friday night to say goodbye to my 15 year old lab Bella who I put down at lunchtime. Tough day but a nice sipper after you let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes.
