  • The market doesn't have a good hydraulic auger solution for sub-compacts, until now. HydrosPlus Auger+ is built to meet the needs of the smallest tractor segment, but can be used on tractors with up to 16-18 GPMs
    Built and priced for the tractor enthusiast, but it can be used by anyone who wants to dig a hole.

    Design the frame so you can attach to the backhoe, in place of the bucket. Might consider a quick attach bucket system for the backhoe. I know a bit more design work. But, If I had a backhoe on my tractor, I would want a backhoe mount system, because it would be far easier to get the auger precisely adjusted. And as future, project you might want to develop a wet feed, so the head can be used to do short horizontal bores. One of the Contractors i work with would probably buy a couple if he could hook them up with a SSQA, and do boring of 60 to 100-ft. it would save hime one machine on the job. Currently he has the skidsteer to dig the pits, and then a borer to actually get teh conduit across the street.

      I like the idea of having it on the backhoe, but I don't think the backhoe has enough reach to be useful. It's too big to curl under, so to travel, you will need to extend the backhoe up in the air.

    • @randallthomas5207

      @@HydrosPlus If the auger and the bucket are quick connects, you could drop the auger on the trailer, and remount the bucket for longer moves. For short jumps along a fence line you’d be ok, so long as the terrain isn’t too rugged. And typically rugged equals rocky, so it probably wouldn’t work in that area unless you had a larger tractor. Which would have the boom length to pull it up.. The bigger part is that it would be far easier to position. With it front mounted in place of the loader bucket you wold have a limited range of motion, to position the auger. On the back hoe you can swing side to side, pull in and out, and adjust how vertical you are.

      I definitely want the backhoe mount. I don’t have unlimited space for attachments and the backhoe arm is already 70% of an PHD setup.

    Super cool! I'd definitely be a customer. I love the idea of the stump planer too! You might consider making an "extension" adapter that goes on a standard forklift frame to extend the auger to the side of the tractor instead of just making a wider fork mount.

    Perhaps my thoughts are not viable, but I was wondering if you put auger in place of the bucket on a backhoe? I know there could be visibility issues as well as likage and alignment problems, I like the idea of total flexibility of placement that a backhoe offers. Yes, I've considered the issues of torque, tension, and compression pressures on the backhoe, but I believe that the flexibility of placement of the auger to override any of these options.

    • @HydrosPlus
      @HydrosPlus  8 месяцев назад

      I'm less worried about the torque and tension, but rather the lift height and limited ability to travel with it because of the overall length of the auger. We see excavators use augers, but they have much longer reach and are higher off the ground. I think it's possible, but not sure if it's usability is going to be worth it.

    Nice setup Kevin. Like many, I have a set of forks and frame already, so the option of getting just what is needed is great. I was going to have to rent an auger at some point to build my fence (to start with), but your solution I am sure will be like your other products…fantastic. I have a 1025R that I put your Stage 3 kit on along with the summit 3rd function. I am guessing that should work fine with the solution you are putting together? Maybe this would give me a winter fence project too do! WIll be keeping a close watch for release.

    Excellent as always, Kevin!
    Advantages with this over PTO driven auger is -
    a) Reversibility
    b) Able to apply down pressure with the loader to assist auger digging
    c) Offset positioning
    Question 1: Is the vertical distance from the top rail of a pallet fork frame to the bottom rail standard in the industry (example: Class II)?
    Question 2: Will the frame have a locking mechanism to engage the rail notches?
    Question 3: Will you offer a motor and cradle option?
    Question 4: Will you have an option to buy without hoses? The reason for this question is that hose length requirements will be different running the auger on the left side of the pallet fork frame versus the right side of the frame. Or will the hoses be of length that will allow operation in any position on the pallet fork frame at full dump position?

    • @HydrosPlus
      @HydrosPlus  Год назад +1

      1 - yes, it's a standard distance for class 2 - 16 inches
      2 - the cradle will utilize bolts to lock it in place. These are sturdier and you won't move the cradle as often as forks
      3 - Yes, I plan to offer the motor/cradle alone as an option
      4 - Maybe, but probably not. I will provide hoses that will reach regardless of where it's mounted.
      Thanks for the kind words!

    What approximately is the flow rate of your stage 2 and stage 3 kits? I'm wondering how that compares to the factory flow on my 3320.

    • @HydrosPlus
      @HydrosPlus  Год назад +1

      At WOT, the 3320 and stage 3 are close on implement flow. 8.5 to 9.5 range depending on rpm and tuning.

    Excited for this possibility. I have a PHD200 but the possibility of down-pressure and a reverse direction would be really useful. Ideally, I'd like to reuse my same augers tho which I think are only a 1" round versus a 2" hex. But whatever...looks like a great product.

  • @projectswithjw
    @projectswithjw Год назад

    Oh yeah, I like that! Not sure how feasible it is but I'd like a maintained PB switch to enable it instead of holding a momentary PB the whole time like what 3rd function kits typically come with.
    😎

    • @SSouthcombe
      @SSouthcombe Год назад +1

      You can simply add a three position rocker switch to your panel wired in parallel to your momentary switch. You would just want to make certain that you keep that rocker switch in the off position when not actually being used as you would not want your solenoids fighting each other.

    • @clintbowen1305
      @clintbowen1305 Год назад

      I'd probably use 2 new rockers, one as described above to enable continuous flow, the other to positively control whether power was sent to that rocker or the stick but never both at the same time. This would work fine for me with the WR Long true 3rd function, YMMV if you have a diverter kit.

  • @clintbowen1305
    @clintbowen1305 Год назад

    First off I'm in no way an expert. Parroting things I've read online, is there a worry about torquing the loader arms if you place the mount outside the right arm mount?

    • @fsj197811
      @fsj197811 Год назад

      I was thinking along the same lines of torque on the loader arms. I'm not an engineer but wouldn't think mounting outside of the arms would cause that much additional stress. Somehow I have a feeling that he's already tried it and the torque wasn't a problem and we'll find out in the next video where he does a test or tells us more about it. :-) I'm with others here where: Oh I want that! But for me and my little home projects it's awful hard to justify buying new specialized equipment. Looking forward to the follow up video!
