If u live in an area where u can't get whole spices, here's a little hack: Cut off the top of a teabag, dump out the contents (make it cheap tea), pour in a teaspoon of ground spices, use the teabag string to tightly tie the bag shut, and toss it in.
OMG that’s what all spice is. I have only ever seen it in crushed / ground form and thought it was a mixture of spices. Now I know what it is. I love watching these videos because for me they are not just about cooking delightful meals, but learning techniques and knowledge to make me a better stay at home chef. Thank you.

This was delicious!! We tried this last Christmas during quarantine. We unfortunately couldn't find whole allspice, so we had to use the ground allspice. It did end up being grainy as you warned. But we scooped it out, and it was heavenly!! Please make this!!! But again, USE WHOLE SPICES!!
This is perfect timing, my husband and I LOVE apple cider and I was just thinking of buying some. I've tried about a dozen of your recipes and they always turn out great :) Thank you for sharing!
There is no such thing as too much apple cider! Especially with a delicious recipe with all those classic flavors like yours, yum!! This is so perfect for the fall and winter season!
OMG! It's like you are in my head. I was just telling someone the other day how much I miss apple cider. I live in Brasil now and we do not have cider here. Cannot wait to try this!! Thanks!
I'm guessing you could wrap the spices in a bouquet garni (cheesecloth packet tied with bakers twine) making mashing in the pot easier? You could cool and freeze in ice cube trays and store in the freezer that way? Look delicious, can't wait to try it
Wow! I had no idea you could make your own Apple cider. I always buy it in the Fall/Winter months. I am definitely going to make this. It’s a little hard on my digestive system, but my hubby loves it. x
Great video. I have a crockpot and used your measurements...but....at the end couldnt get your amount of water innit! Only half. I didnt know crockpots had small sizes
can you do this with fresh tart apples? idk the type a co worker gave to my hubby from his farm and they are smaller green with a little redish on them but my hubby said more tart
@@Thestayathomechef I'm definitely going to try this out but my crockpot is a little smaller...would it still taste the same if I cut the ingredients in half?
Simply use an IMMERSION BLENDER in the same exact crock pot and at the very end, after cooking, use a chinois (very fine mesh strainer) to get all of the chunks out...
Ummm red delicious is about the blandest apple ever. And remove and mash on a board then return to the pot? Dude. Pour out the liquid and mash apples only in the bottom of the pot. Holy smokes. You cannot possibly make this recipe regularly
I’d wager the problem here is that YOU have never made this recipe. Good luck with your method. Choosing the more difficult method is always interesting.

That’s what I did!
they also make tea bags for this purpose :)
Genius!

Instead of helping us achieve the taste we want for the recipe, the stay at home chef also answer lots of questions coming along our way.

Yes, that will work fine.
Can u make apple sauce from those boiled apples?
Mmmm this look delicious I may try it😁😄😃😀
Simply use an IMMERSION BLENDER in the same exact crock pot and at the very end, after cooking, use a chinois (very fine mesh strainer) to get all of the chunks out...
Love it!
Can you use green apples?
Amazing!
Thanks!
I only have powder cinnamon but I’m using Granny Smith apples can I just use the cinnamon I don’t have any nutmeg
Can this be made in a normal pressure cooker? If so how long should it stay on the stove?
mmm lov it
I love you, thank you for recipe 🌹
My pleasure 😊
@@Thestayathomechef that's kind of you 🌼😊
Would a regular pot do?
Hello there, this looks so yummy. But how would I make it if o don't have a slow cooker.
Buy one pls you can use it all the time to make other things so easy like pulled pork etc
Can Anise be added too?
Several family members/friends do not like the taste of clove. Can something be substituted in it's place or left out all together?
You could leave it out if you'd like.
@@Thestayathomechef thank you for replying! I'm planning on making this for my family's Thanksgiving get-together. 😊
Maybe try nutmeg!
Nice
Thanks
I love it and it looks like a very healthy drink 🍹and it lllllooooook’s GGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDD
Yum!
Can I skip the sugar?
Can I use grinned all spice?
What do you all do with the cider afterwards?
Can I use ground cinnamon in place of sticks
Ground cinnamon may leave bits of it in your cider and make it taste grainy
Any one have an adaptation for using an instant pot or electric pressure cooker?
next make an Oreo cake please
Oooh that does sound good (: Maybe one day i will be able to get to that
Now I have to go buy a crockpot lol
I'm assuming this is alcohol free seeing as it hasn't fermented?
Correct. It doesn't have any alcohol.
Bit too much cinnamon for me, which was surprising since I love cinnamon. Maybe cut it down to 2 sticks. Other than that very tasty my family loved it
hmm.. cloves of what? :)
How come everybody's cider is brown and mine is clear after 4 hours?
And. 9 small apples
why not cut the fruits into smaller pieces so don't need to mash them?
It’s less work to mash them since you’ll have to mash them either way.
This screams fall
Why in the world would you throw away the remainder of the apples??? Make apple butter! Oh man it’s so good on some buttered toast.
What? No fermentation? Is this still a cider??😏😏
This isn't alcoholic, it's a USA thing
But apple cider is usually alcoholic
Yes. This one isn't
@@Sara-dz6fz I don't like 😁😉
@@M.Mehdi.B I wanna try it lol
There is enough Vitamin C in there to fullfill adult dietary needs for year. Needs Vitamin B, as in booze to complete.
This isn't cider, it's juice!
