  • The Joyo MW-1 is a great solution to converting XLR gear into wireless. For example in this video I show how I took the standard Shure SM58 and converted it into a wireless microphone. It is super easy to use. Also, it uses the superior 5.8GHz band to transmit the signal. I recommend this for anyone that likes their wired microphone, but would like to convert it into a wireless mic. It can also be used to wirelessly transmit an XLR signal to a speaker or other XLR device.

    I just got this today and used it live this evening. I plugged into my Bose S1 and had to max the volume to get a satisfactory mix with my Strat and backing tracks. I’ll try it at a few more gigs this week, a bit dubious of it’s suitability

      Hey James I thought I was only one I also have a Bose S1 and try on some gigs with a micro phone and this wireless JOYO and like you I max out the volume and didn’t like that. I wonder if there is something better quality to pick up the voice better.

    This product in my opinion is an eye opener. Especially if don't plan on buying the full set of the Shure sm58. I yet to test it out for myself and will be getting some feedback in the near future..............

    Cool product. Pretty sure it’s Joy-O, not Joe-Yo. Let us know what battery life is like when you find out. They are pretty small units so that may be where they compromised. Oh, on the receivers for these things, I just leave them constantly plugged in. To preserve the plug life on the transmitters, I use magnetic charging cables where the little adapter stays plugged in.

    You had trouble getting the transmitter out because you switched spots. The transmitter has an angled end.
    Several people noticed the hiss. I’m getting old, so I always hear hiss. 🥴
    It’s not as noticeable for live use in a noisy environment, but if that doesn’t work for you, spend 3-4 times as much for other brands.
    This is not the cheapest or best, but is a good value.

  • @smileynoreally

    Hi Kennis have you tried these over a PA system? How bad does the hiss get? I do small gigs and I usually go directly into the speaker, no mixer, so I can't eq properly and am trying to figure out if these will work for me. Also, I am about to purchase a vocal processor from TC Helicon which will add another step in the chain. I would order this and try it out myself but I don't have a speaker system at home to try this.
    Thoughts?

    Hi. Anyone tried using this on a mixer out to send to the receiver in an active speaker?

    • @TomCee53
      @TomCee53 2 года назад +2

      Yes, they actually work very well. Since the level is higher, you may need to reduce gain one mixer and adjust the speaker accordingly to keep from overloading it. The higher level does offset the background noise in the transmission.

    Hello;
    thanks for the review. I have to tell you that you convinced me NOT to buy them. I think there is a sponsor who gave you the Joyo to promote it. Responsibly I will tell you that it is not entirely correct, an important aspect when presenting an item is to show all possible aspects. I explain; you OBVIATED a very important aspect and that was when connecting and turning on the mic. It should have left a space for the noise of silence that it produces in wireless transmitters and receivers. For excellent audio, there should be NO NOISE in the silence. If you want, you can watch the video in time 2:08 & 2:20. You can appreciate the famous Hizzzzzzzz of a wireless, which for a quality recording should not exist, that is not heard in much more expensive high-end equipment. Forgive the remark, but I must, out of my morality of honesty, clarify your assertion that it is an exceptional audio equipment. Remember, "You get what you pay for." Success and blessings.
