Marvel Ultimate Alliance is the Avengers version of the X-men Legends game. It has an insane roster and even more mods. Just played it yesterday with Black Widow, Sentry, Silver Surfer and Clea.
This game brings back so many memories. Nightcrawler was always my favourite X-men, but this game showed just how powerful and cool Iceman was. The most powerful character in the game imo.
Magneto was my favorite for his utility. He had leadership and could solve every puzzle except for elemental ones. Having him on your team meant you could pretty much put anyone else. I just wish he had his 90's Jim Lee costume.
Iceman was super good and was on my team 80% of the time, but Gambit was my all time favorite. He was ALWAYS the team leader when I played. Cyclops had more time on my team than Iceman, but Iceman was in the top 4 most used as well as Colossus. That was my most used team right there.
Every version has different unlockable characters, but the common unlockable ones across all platforms were Professor X and Iron Man. The PSP version is arguably the best because you get Cable, X-Man, Dark Phoenix, Cannonball and playable comic book missions, something none of the other versions have.
I never finished this game because it always froze during the fight with the Stepford Cuckoos. I used to have so much fun throwing people around with Jean's telekinesis.
If you still have the game, keep your hero's stash under 30 items and don't leave any gear laying around in stages. There's a bug that causes the game to freeze.
Gonna try this, thanks! I used to have this same problem and ended up selling the game because I got frustrated with the freezing, but I just ordered another copy.
Scarlet Witch seems OP : HP regen for team, MP absorb for team, attack boost for team, 20% chance to instakill a mob and makes him give a goodie, backfire for bosses ? Way to go for Magneto's daughter !
The only thing that I do not like about this game is that some details are missing from the first game. For example, when you upgrade Cyclops' optic beam to the max level (it's called legend blast), the whole animation of the blast changes and it looks more powerful than before. They added more detail to the beam once you do the final upgrade. In this game however, the optic beam stays the same even if you upgrade to the max.. That's a complete disappointment. It feels lazy from the developers to do that. Also, his optic slam was so much better and wider in the first game. Why did they do that? it was perfect the way it was in the first game.

One reason this game was so great and better than Marvel Ultimate Alliance was because of the depth. The characters had more abilities to choose from than what you could use. So you had to pick which ones you wanted to strengthen and stick with. That gave the player options and let the player mess around with their own builds for their favorite heroes. Then, you had good itemization that allowed you to further tweak the characters strengths and weaknesses. That's what its all about. I made a super strong melee based Gambit build that could hang with the best fighters in the game. That was such a fun thing to be able to do. With Gambit you could go all in with his melee skills and attacks and buff that, or you could focus on energy attacks and strengthen his card throwing abilities. I loved the game for letting me choose which one i liked and either would work with the right gear. That was the beauty of it. My main team was Gambit, Cyclops, Iceman and then the 4th would jump around between a couple of my favorites like Wolverine and Colossus. Since i had a lot of energy type damage on my team i usually saved the last spot for a physical attacker. Storm found a lot of time on my teams too and sometimes Nightcrawler. When my wife and i played together we both got to pick two heroes to put on the team and use. I usually picked Gambit and Colossus and she was always using Jean Grey and Iceman. Picking my teams centered around Gambit at the lead. Then I'd like to have 2 ranged heroes to do combo attacks with because they were really strong. In my opinion, Cyclops was the easiest character to combo with so he was almost always paired with Gambit for that reason. Then one other ranged that might change from time to time then a physical fighter to round things out and make sure my team wasn't too squishy lol. Such an awesome game that I've put tons of hours into on multiple occasions owning it at different times in my life. I don't think X-Men Legends 2 will ever be topped as far as super hero/X-Men games go. It was that good in my opinion. I wish they'd remaster it, but keep everything besides the graphics the same. Maybe add some new heroes too. That would absolutely rock!
I love how you did this for every character! You should also do this for MUA1 and 2! As well as X-Men legends 1! Also you should do the passives as well. 👍
Sadly, this was that weird era where they put exclusive characters on each platform. I lucked out and got the PSP version which had Dark Phoenix, Cable, Cannonball and X-Man. On top of that there were playable comic missions similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance. You can at least mod the PC version to get all the exclusive characters on one platform nowadays. They even added Beast recently who was exclusive to the Nokia N-Gage.
Raven Software made these games nice. I love how they copied and pasted Deadpool’s whirlwind blades from this game to Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Still very good games That I would play any time.
Really? I like the charcter, but her abilities are lackluster. Thos 2 radials (Psionic boom and Memory wipe) are just weak, uninteresting and same-y...

Best team up: Bishop for the Superconductor, Storm for the Will of the Goddess, Sunfire with the Rising Sun, and if one of them dies Jean Grey resurrect them.
Overpowered asses, I destroyed everything with that team up. I replaced Bishop with Cyclops for double XP and switched them out halfway in every level.
@@murk4552 Any team with Bishop or Gambit is overpowered. Energy Fury's damage calculation is bugged allowing you to deal ungodly amounts of damage. Just don't use Bishop and Gambit together because trying to stack it will break the game.

Idk, I kind of liked how both games were vastly different. The X-Men Legends series was more of a true dungeon crawler while Ultimate Alliance felt more like a fast paced brawler with light RPG elements and less micromanagement.
That's the one of the few things I didn't like. I felt like certain characters like that could've been omitted from the game because it's like the devs got lazy and decided to do a copy and paste

The integer calculation for Energy Fury is bugged causing anyone under the buff to deal ungodly amounts of melee damage to enemies. If you want to breeze through the game on easy mode, have either Gambit or Bishop on your team. Just don't use both because trying to stack the buff will break the game.

I played this game many times when I was a kid yet I'm 17 years old but I'm surprised that Pyro and Sabretooth is a playable character here. I thought it was only X-Man, Professor X, and Iron Man are the only secret playable characters here?

Looking at sabretooth and pyro, it's very disappointing how they are clones of Wolverine and sunfire, at that point why even make them pc exclusive? Overall the video covered the characters very well, it would be nice if you could add in the psp exclusives however.
This needs to be remade for the PS5 only on a larger scale like They should have given Juggernaut the ability to run through the walls of every stage or Magneto can pick up or destroy anything metal. Have Wolverine’s claws cut through just about everything.

Unlockable character who you couldn't use until the end of the final Act in your initial playthrough. Once unlocked, he is available to use from the start in a new or carried over game. Assuming you have a memory card to save your game settings.
Ironman , Nightcrawler , and Magneto top those three. Jug's Crimson Rage is impressive , but is only useful in very limited situations. Colossus's most powetful attacks take too long to execute and are eaily avoided by all but the slowest enemies. Wolverine's best attack is hard to control and if you don't connect on your first two enemies loses energy too fast. Ironman's Gamma Bolts can clear out a room as soon as you enter it , and Repulsor Ray with just one point can take down a boss ( with Bishop or Gambit's Energy Fury almost unfairly easily) Nightcrawler's Master of Chaos and glitched Teleport Flurry are nearly as effective as Ironman. Magneto's Shrapnell Sentry combined with an energy replishing boost can be spammed through any level and all but the toughest bosses even without any damage enhancing equipment.
Not as much weak as she didn't have a game breaking skill like Shrapnell Sentry or Teleport Frenzy. I played a game with her as my lead offensive character just fine. Her boosts and passives are very lacking , while her extremes are above average.
her regular attacks are too slow and some powers are not good but you can level up her critical hit to 33% chance and her physical powers can be buffed with bishop energy fury boost to do insane damage. also her pop up combo looks cool but she isnt as cute in the game as in the 90s cartoon

Bull rushing through thenkevels with Juggernaut was so fun. I loved these games.

Magneto's Shrapnell Sentry combined with an energy replishing boost can be spammed through any level and all but the toughest bosses even without any damage enhancing equipment.

Was it me or was rouge really weak?
Not as much weak as she didn't have a game breaking skill like Shrapnell Sentry or Teleport Frenzy.
I played a game with her as my lead offensive character just fine.
Her boosts and passives are very lacking , while her extremes are above average.
I really like Rogue in this game, her melee attacks to quite a lot of damage. I have no idea why people think she sucks.
her regular attacks are too slow and some powers are not good but you can level up her critical hit to 33% chance and her physical powers can be buffed with bishop energy fury boost to do insane damage. also her pop up combo looks cool but she isnt as cute in the game as in the 90s cartoon
