  • It's a classic DanOCan road trip. I'm solo this time and heading from French Lick, Indiana to Moonshine, Illinois. Moonshine is home to the Moonshine General Store, home of the Moonburger. Is it the best burger in the USA as someone I met years ago claims? And, what other small mid-America towns will I visit along the way?
As always, thanks for coming along for the ride!

Dan: Let me get this straight! You flew all the way to Illinois, drove two hours, for a hamburger? Hope it was the best you ever ate!

I was in the area for work so the trip to Moonshine was just a bonus for being in the area. It's funny, many others who were at the same trade show as me were all in a hurry to fly to the next one in Florida, whereas I was quite happy to tour this area instead.

That's great. I love it when we can introduce people to something that's practically in their own backyard that they didn't know about.

Too bad you didn't stop in Vincennes! That's where Gimbel's started, William Henry Harrison's mansion, and the birthplace of Red Skelton. Lot's of interesting things.

Wow, I am sorry I missed out on that. I added a few more pins to my Google Map for the next time I am in that area.

    What a great "side trip"...
Years ago I got to stop at Bucksnort, Tennessee! I'd first driven past it while driving semi, but was able to stop while on our nationwide RV trip a few years ago.
I know the feeling of having a yearning to see a place. Oh, BTW, I once found a place called, Bugscuffle, Tennessee, on the map. It took many years until I visited it...
Keep it up, Dan, it's GREAT!

Thanks. One of the places on my list is Toad Suck, Arkansas.

It was really good. I had a friend on Facebook comment about how "it looked like nothing special" but I really thought it was great. Maybe the atmosphere and the location adds something to it. A burger with an experience.

@@DanOCan Nothing special sometimes is the best! I don't like fancy burgers. It's a burger, it should be simple.
