I’ve also set all doors to lock once you reach a certain speed and made my car bleep on lock/unlock all via Carista which is an awesome tool. Thanks for confirming Dave, I thought it was odd. Luckily the dealer we bought it from specialises in imports so has changed the Speedo clocks to mph. Really appreciate your videos they have been really useful 👍🏻
I have used carista before on my audis and its a handy little tool. This video has been of great interest to me as i can't wait to get rid of the kilometers per hour display as in the uk that is very distracting and i don't know why vw would do that for the uk market. The mph display is a bonus. Thanks mate
Yet again, another great video. I'm currently waiting for the delivery of my new Eonon VWA12S-6G. Couple of questions..... Do I need an OBD reader device or will the Eonon head unit be able to read with the Carista app installed? The link to the Carista subscription doesn't work. It seems the video is down. I have the VCDS dongle and software but the Carista would be so much handier rather than having to lug the laptop out.

Have you tried customising the power steering weight preset? I have a scirocco and the steering is heavy I want to make it a lot smoother when turning etc cheers
Hi Dave thanks for the video, have gone through all of the steps exactly as you have gone through, region set to Australia, etc. but still getting Kmh in the digital speed? Have all of the other settings set to UK? Car is a MK6 Golf 1.4 TSI with MFS. Any advice appreciated.
Hi Dave thanks for coming back to me. I get the large digital display not a problem it’s just still in km/h Switched back to uk and then back to Australia but still no difference. The only thing I can think of is this was a Japanese import so set to Japan originally. But I’ve changed the region and the units to mph but digital speed always shows in km/h
@stevenbass4158 if its an import then it can't have MPH displayed and the clocks will only have large KMH....downside of getting an import unfortunately 😕
Hi Dave, tried using the subscription free carista you suggested along side the OBD adaptor. Went to connect Bluetooth and then turned on carista. Carista blocks me on my car make / model part saying it is not supported, I get to the bit where it asks for the year which is 2013 and then nothing, any advice on this?
Check the lights on your carista obd reader....if he obd reader isn't sitting correctly....should be a red and green light, of not seated correctly then you will just have a red lightv
@sayfulislam8816 1st try bending all the pins on the obd reader into the centre of reader about 2mm, if it still won't connect get down where you can see the reader and slowly pull back out until you see green and red light.
Hi, i need to do this for my new car (2019 sharan). So thanks for the link and instructions. Quick Q - would this be classed as a modification for insurance purposes? Ie would we need to declare it being done? Thanks
I have the carista now. And in settings and it says about headlights. Can i put to highest voltage. 13.6 volts if so will it shorten lifespan of the bulbs

I don't have a multifunction steering wheel i used the buttons on my windscreen wiper stalk to change the display and it worked, Thanks👍
How did you do this? Mine is stuck in Bluetooth pairing mode and won't change?
What's stuck in Bluetooth pairing, carista app? Close all apps that you have open and try again

Did it on my mk5, didn't notice much difference....not an option on either of my mk6s

Did you go into mfd and tick the box...."alt speed" if its not ticked it won't show large digital display

No it would not be classed as a modification, it just unlocking a feature the car already has installed

Yes it will....carista doesn't need to remain plugged in to the obd port

I have passed 7 mots with dpf deleted. You have to have the work done by a qualified tuner.

I use Gen2, not bothered about Evo as I only have VWs
