After a jammed-pack year of action, the street skateboarding season will head towards its conclusion with the World Skateboarding Tour: Street World Championships 2023 in Toyko, Japan. Given the contest is doubling up as a World Championship, the points on offer in Tokyo will be worth more than at a typical tour stop, adding an extra dash of excitement to proceedings.
Out to defend her title in the women’s event will be Brazil’s Rayssa Leal, who recently claimed victory at Street League Skateboarding’s Super Crown in Sao Paulo, while in the men's division, a new champion will be crowned with Aurelien Giraud withdrawing from the contest for personal reasons.
Among those expected to compete will be Nyjah Huston, who holds an impressive perfect record at the World Skate events he has attended, reigning Olympic champions Nishiya Momiji and Horigome Yuto, and Australian teen star Chloe Covell.

I often disagree with the judges. 86 for back smith by Momiji (3rd attempt) but 85 for kf fs boardslide. Everything is scored a little high (76 for crooked?). They also underscore Akama IMO

In her run she kick flipped the big stairs, 5050 kick flip, kickflip feeble, switch flip on the small set. I’d say that was pretty impressive. Flipping ur board is risky ( do u watch gifted hater by any chance?)

@@ndzm4722 No it's just bad judging..
It's going to stop when all the girls start spamming all Chloes over rewarded tricks like 50-50 flip out and 50-50 big spin out. Until the judges realise it's cheese and start docking it.
most of those girls could have kickflipped or heelflipped that gap any day, but they focused more on technical, they're pushing womens skateboarding forward.
The judges are actually rewarding cheesey grom skateboarding I mean come on... only 72 for a perfect crook nollie flip out by Yumeka??? Clowns.

i'm glad they don't do that anymore.
It's kind of disgraceful, you had those girls making history at the olympics and humiliate them by having them have to whoop and celebrate over getting 3/10 or 4/10 in a run. It's too demoralising.
Womens skateboarding has only gotten more tech, would be shameful to see them doing NBDs (new levels of tech for womens contests) then having to cheer for getting a 5 or 6 when really it should be a 9+.
