Pretty sure I saw you at that Pearl, MS course at 1:40. We were the people warming up in the field while you parked #4 with the nastiest forehand I've ever seen.

Technically, you are right. But draining the shot from the tee-pad is still an ace. "Cubby-ace" is the term. But still, most go with "an ace is an ace!" Which I can't really argue.. But the feeling of accomplishment and excitement from a true first-throw ace is 100x better than a cubby-ace. And I don't think anyone will argue that. Unfortunately getting a true ace on camera is like one in a million, so 99% of ace videos on youtube / insta / facebook / tiktok are technically cubby-aces where the camera just keeps rollin. Sorry to be that guy, all. Still great shots!
