Hua Hua is considered one of the most influential people in the music business among in China! He is a wonderful, deep soul with talent out of this world. He came in 2nd in 2018 Singer and first in the 2020 Singer! I just love this guy!

Hua Chenyu is my favorite artist. He is one of the most versatile and unique artists in the world. Great composer, amazing singer and outstanding performer all in one. His music has no boundaries. He often mixes new elements into his songs with creative thinking. He is basically a rock star but he can handle so many different genres of music.
This song was composed by him describing the life of monkey King. Absolutely incredible.
Hua Chenyu and Dimash both have their own style. They are different but they are all amazing. Hua Chenyu appeared in the public through "Super Boy" competition in 2013. Much earlier than Dimash. His style has taken shape long ago just as a chameleon, so it's impossible to be influenced by Dimash. Every performance is different so you can't predict what his next performance will be.

Hua Chenyu and Dimash are often being compared to, for few years since I started to became Hua Chenyu’s fans, both fanbases have been trying so hard to maintain respect and avoid comparison because most of them are a fan of both, and we know how brilliant the two singer are. also so different.
however, for me personally, what makes Hua Chenyu different is that not only he’s so versatile; you’ll always be surprised of him. he’s able to deliver the emotions he wants to send the audiences through his voice and performance. he’s able to create desperation, cries, final struggle to his voice. he’s able to portray inner thoughts to his voice. and he’s singing as if he’s singing for himself, his eyes held journeys. doesn’t matter if he’s not singing in the way coaches do, even got scolded at when he was in college, as long as he’s able to create the emotions he wants to covey, thats enough for him.
back before Hua Chenyu debuted, he made music and sing only for himself. he didn’t allow others to hear, because his music was for him to let out his struggle of mentality. this habit of his, is brought to this day. Hua Chenyu’s personality is a bit shy and quite child-like, but once he stepped on the stage he turns into somebody else. because every song he own has a purporse, and everytime he sings them he had that purpose in mind, and he sings it mostly as if he’s singing to himself. thus, his eyes held journeys.

(dimash is amazing too but he is so different - he have crazy skills and technics and high pitchs and all that what rare other singers can show - but he uses more all his technics when he sing)

This is a deep song, the backup voice is from the monk who wearing the white clothes. It has the meaning itself. If you feel uncomfortable from the backup voice, you are in correct way😄.The emotion from the song itself is describe the fate of Monkey King.🌹🌹
I thought Master Changcheng （The Monk）was only doing the Six Syllable Mantra in background，not any other back up singing. I may be wrong，but as far as I know Master Changcheng's part was “muted” in the final broadcast version we see anyway （due to censorship ），the Mentra sounded much more obvious in the studio version.

I would like to say that rap in Chinese sounds very cool :-) It's probably better not to try to read the subtitles in time to enjoy the song. Also, being a fan of Dimash, I would not say that this is his influence on Hua-Hua, it seems to me that Hua himself is a brilliant creative person. Sorry for my English, it's not me, it's a translator :-)

I have say that I only like Hua's rap.. the other Chinese rap is not that great as they rap the English way which does not fit into Chinese at all.. But Hua's rap is rock rap and he is so clever to make rap sound great!!

I love all of his songs and rearrangements but maybe songs like Nunchucks (rearrangement), Seven Personalities (original) and Ordinary Path (rearrangement) show many of his vocal capabilities and versatility. 🤔

He’s older and been performing these works before Dimash ever got there. Both however are a huge part of my playlist.

Hi, First thanks for reacting to Hua Hua but to understand the song you got to listen to the song with the movie theme "Wukong" and the song fits perfectly with the movie. l even rank this guy higher than Dimash as he is an all-rounder performance with his artistic impression that portray in his song. He is a composer and a songwriter and so far he didn't disappoint me yet.

It wouldn't surprise me if he purposely composed this song with a dissonance between him and the backing vocals to create that dark quality you describe...I can't confirm that, but I do know he participates in every detail of his performances, so it's likely, and would fit with the theme of the song. He has been labeled as a "Martian" because of his singing style, going back to his debut performance on a sh ow called Super Boy in 2013, when he auditioned with a song with no lyrics - just sounds similar to the end of this song. His fans are also called Martians because of this, and he has a very, very special relationship with them - hoping you'll investigate him enough to be able to see the concert performances of him interacting with them - it's truly special.

If you want to know the lyrics, there's another translation of this performance by someone who writes better English. I watched that version first and didn't need to know the Monkey King story to understand the main ideas of the song. I think it was from Hua Chenyu English Subtitles channel.

He always knew how to play he's Voice, I knew him for one week but I start to love he's Voice
Hua has great vocals but that has never been his priority. His priority is to convey his songs in the way he deemed most effective even if it means singing in methods that voice coaches disapprove of. He is the most versatile artiste out there. His own compositions and arrangements covers most genres and he is far from your typical mainstream music. Will be happy if u decide to continue on the hua journey
That's what I always enjoy about true artist, they know that the voice is just another type of instrument and it should only work in symbiosis with everything else and not to be overused just for the sake of showing off.
My favorite Singer. I also like singers like Dimash and KZ abut Hua Hua is definitely my fav. It’s not weird that you don’t understand the lyrics, you’ll only understand if you know they story of The Monkey King (the Great Sage Equal to Heaven). It’s about his story how Buddha restrained him as he was very destructive and all he wanted was his freedom back. So don’t worry about the lyrics in this particular song.
In any case Hua Hua is very versatile and I just love his voice and all his music compositions. Hope you’ll do more reactions on him.

This song is about a mythical hero, the Monkey King. The Monkey King, who was born from a rock, has great capabilities, but he is belittled by the established heavenly court since he is an outsider. He breaks free from the ridicule and prejudice, and wreaks havoc in the heavens. After defeating the heaven's army, the Monkey King proclaims himself "the Great Sage Equal to Heaven", meaning no one in the heavenly court is above him and can order him around. The second part of his story is that the Greatest Buddha forces/persuades/bargains the Monkey King to use his capabilities to benefit all mankind, and help escort a devote monk to travel to retrieve Buddha's teachings. The "force" part is a permanently attached headband that can shrink to cause great pain. Somewhere in the lyrics, Hua sings "the constricting headband has not yet been forged, I can still smile".....

The structure of the song reflects the internal conflict of Equal to Heaven (the monkey king), surrender to buddha or rebel. The book of Journey to the West is the backdrop. The backing vocal is the man in white behind him. I can barely distinguish his sound. Hcy has another song (rap) about the monkey king, called Great Sage Equal to Heaven. We all know Joy and i trust her to come up with the best suggestions.

I don’t understand why people always compare Dimash and Hua. I love both of them but they are 2 completely different singers. Hua is basically a rock and rap singer songwriter, although he can and does hit the high notes occasionally; Dimash is classically trained and known for his techniques. It’s like comparing Pavarotti to Michael Jackson or something. Completely irrelevant.

I liked it as he is the first to make me like rapping; besides Dimash of course. Hua Hua rap cadence is catchy and sounds good. I do not know what it is about his songs but he is like Dimash and can do covers or songs and make them into masterpieces! He also is very theatrical on stage most of the time. He and Dimash are musical genius. Hua Hua can create masterpieces on the fly too. He conducts his audience to participate in the song most of the time. Please try 'Jackdaw boy' from 'Singer' 2020 (Episode 1, in white tshirt, blue jacket and pants, if you're having trouble finding it because of the language, though I know you're familiar with that show).
'I don't care' from 'Singer' 2020 (dressed in a grey-patterned jacket). Amazing!! ('I don't care' is with 3 other superb singers.) If you prefer only Hua singing, the same song can be found from 'Singer' 2018.

This is the theme song for the movie "WuKong" that was released in July 2017. The story is: before WuKong becomes the Monkey King (the main character in the book "Journey to the West") he was a monkey that lived on HuaGuo Mountain. Because the gods and the goddesses wanted someone to bring the sacred text of Buddhism back to them so they destroy HuaGuo Mountain, forcing WuKong to come to the heaven and accept the mission. This was all a scheme to help save the world but sacrificing the life of WuKong. When WuKong realized that everything was already planned out, he was dismayed (first part of the song) and furious (the rap). So he challenged a battle against the heaven and Buddha, obviously he failed because he was just a piece on the chess board. WuKong has a famous line: My destiny is in my hand, not in the heaven.

The song lyrics are a reference to the story of the origin story of the Monkey King which was written in the old story the Journey to the West, which is one of the 4 great classics of Chinese literature (written about 500 years ago). Because it's so rooted in Chinese cultural references, it may be difficult for people who don't really know a lot about Chinese culture to understand the lyrics.
The beginning lyrics are a reference to how the Monkey King, Sun Wukong, got annoyed at being ordered by heaven, so he went to war against heaven and wrecked it a ton. The gods couldn't stop him, so Buddha came. The Buddha said that if the Monkey King could leap out of Buddha's palm, then he would become the Jade Emperor, who is the ruler of heaven. Sun Wukong thought that it would be easy, so he attempted it. He leapt so far that he thought he had reached the end of Heaven and had come upon the 5 pillars marking the end. He peed on one of them and wrote his name to mark that he had been there. Then, when he leapt back, the Buddha showed him his hands, of which one of his fingers had pee and a name written on it lol.

I wonder if anyone compares Dimash with Vitas. For my age, I know Vitas much earlier than Dimash. My not an expert, they are the same genres for me.
I've also known Vitas before than Dimash. Oh people compare them very much especially with the song "Opera 2". Lots of people say that Vitas is a "fake" singer that he can't sing.
A while back fans of Dimash and Vitas was at eachother throats continiously. Not a pretty sight. I guess some people dont see the difference between music and soccer.

@@CC-sr2ec I tried different styles, but mainly practiced dance theater. In dance theater, one dances to various kinds of music, from classics to pop, and whatever the dancer or choreographer needs. Once upon a time I saw a show that lasted 39 seconds and generally there was a lot of screaming. And the performance itself was quite spectacular. :) If I would like to dance to Dimash's music, I would also be able to. Although I am far from a professional dancer, I would like to move something. I am not a choreographer and I would not be able to come up with a choreography, but if someone would come up with something for me, I would try to dance. Hehe, I'm gonna go dancing to Hua Hua. Or maybe some show for "Fake Monk" LOL

@@HofTheStage Hua Hua is older and been in the public eye longer I believe. He's been doing solo concerts since 2014 after winning the Super Boy competition and signing with an entertainment company.

Drove his teachers mad) and his hcy-style in both vocals and genres stems from very early on. That said, hcy has often talked about the importance of learning from others in interviews. Tengger had great influence on him in 2018. But Dimash had absolutely nothing to do with Qi Tian!
HuaHua has been on top of the Chinese Music scene since 2013, gathering awards for Singer of the Year every year in his 8 years career. How would he pick anything to Dimash before he started to be known in China in 2017? HuaHua is known for being a very unique composer and musician, he has his own vocal technique which is different in China. Maybe you should check his huge catalog of songs he composed over the years before slandering him.

I am not impressed, his music always lacked human connection, unlike KZ Tandingan (for example) wherein you will be mesmerized. Maybe because he always blurt out with those unnecessary high notes/octave. singing is just like acting so you fit your voice into a song...you interpret with indepth interpretationv, not that you fit your song is fit to a song.
