This is the "good" (LOLz still kinda cheesey) TCT (tungston Carbide Tipped) bit that drilled a perfect hole, with no observable runout (can be run with internal coolant):

This is the cheesey TCT (tungston Carbide Tipped) bit that has ~1mm runout after the Weldon to 3-jaw adapter (no internal coolant ability):

I've watched several vids on these drills and it seems like no-one knows how to drill a hole properly! I was taught to pump the drill in order to break and clear the chips. This also helps keep the drill and workpiece cool plus allows coolant to flow into the hole. Your drills will go much farther between sharpenings as well. I can still hear my mentors shouting at me across the shop "PUMP THE DRILL!"

Thanks for the information. I just recently also picked up a Vevor annular cutter/drill. On the first day I drilled 64 5/8” holes. It took less than 1/3 of the time as using a drill press and standard drills. I’m definitely happy with mine so far.

You are welcome. It is an awesome tool for the price. Not sure how long it will last if you are pushing it that hard. Let us know if you have any trouble with it wearing out.

Just by eyeball, I can see a horrifying amount of runout on that first bit in the three jaw chuck.
Next time apply less pressure, use a constant stream of coolant or lubricant (I prefer a constant stream of a light cutting oil) and turn down the speed all the way for such relatively large diameter bits. The combination of excess pressure, excess speed, and insufficient coolant will burn your bits out within a dozen holes.

Thanks for the tips! I'm glad i have the "real" bit for precise holes. I'll have to invest in some cutting + cooling fluid. The main job I bought it for is cutting worn out welded bushings in a loader. I did some with a hand drill. It was brutal. Peace.

With practice you will feel the right pressure when the teeth are cutting right. The more coolant-lube the better and go slow n steady. It bound up from the bit expanding when it gets hot.

Wow. I did not think about the stall being from the bit expanding. I definitely need to figure out cooling. Thanks.

@@Baxsie Ive used hole saws to cut holes in 1in plate and ended up with a tapered hole from the hole saw expanding. lol

Bit won’t last long with no coolant. Those bits need a constant supply of coolant. Even just water is OK.

Audio needs work - voice too low, drill too loud.
