I haven't watched the live action, but from what I can grasp, if a person votes for the wrong culprit, even if the majority gets it right, they also get punished? That's what happened to Ishimaru and Yamada, right? That's a really creative way to get rid of the two characters without the need for Case 3!

Oh my gosh, this is fantastic! You did a far better job analyzing her character than most people would in this underrated video!!

I think the play should've led to Celeste and Sakura both becoming the culprit of the case and state the poison and bat killed Sakura at the *exact same time* with no difference.
Not only would it have been extremely interesting and unexpected but having it also be Celestes goal the whole time and what she was aiming for would've shined a light on every aspect of her Character at the *exact same time.*
The Lying, Manipulating, Cunning, Intelligence and Luck would all be at play.

But this kinda raises the thing. What if Celestia intentionally get herself killed.
Hear me out but when you look at the pieces, it kinda adds up. Now this idea did came from someone else and it persuaded me. So let's try to persuade someone if possible. It can fail... however, let's give it shot: (I am aware you walk into that whole game blind.)
Celestia's character during that feels off but it makes sense if you view chapter 3. In my defense she purposefully made a poor murder plan to get caught and killed. Now to defend that case, let's bring up some things. But why would she do it? What reason would she go to just make a poor excuse of a murder? My answer is: *She loss hope* as in she's hopeless. To her, her only escape from this game was death itself.
I feel like she honestly acted the way she did to make the cast not feel so sad or in despair. She constantly lies about her own dreams which can easily be shown by the fact she speaks in her fake accent while looking away to the right. This murder plan also got rid of 2 of the most mentally unstable people.
Now if we look at the *Ultimate Talent Development Plan Cards* which is simply the final card showing the character's true self. Celeste's own final card simply says: "Perhaps we'll meet again, in another life." Now she wasn't hopeless, I feel like her true self wouldn't be this. This shows her true nature as someone who simply just loss hope in the world and just waited to die. Tying back to how poor the murder she did.
But then this last part: Makoto's Perspective of what she notice before Celestia's execution. Which this also showed her true nature.
"Celeste smiled then... And when she did, it looked to me like a poor effort to force it. She claimed she could fool her own feelings. But that statement itself... must have been her final lie. And that weak, fake smile... is what betrayed her."
When it comes to that line it truly shows a lot. This is just after she starts smiling when talking about executions. Finally realizing she doesn't want to die but accepts it because she knows she deserves it for what she did (Murdering).
A line from Celestia is this: "Which is why... Actually, it's not important"
This line came before her death and I believe she was honestly gonna reveal the truth but stops herself in order to just keep that simple facade she keeping hold just to simply stop the class from falling into more despair.
Now ofc I can't persuade everyone but I want to take it by that perspective of why she murdered. Also shoutout to a youtube user called: HellraiserUnderground. He gave this idea so I honestly saw the perspective and it quite made sense.

Honestly, this is a great take on Taeko's character.
Also, I just wanna add, before she says "Which is why... Actually, it's not important", she says (referring to alter ego) "Would this give you the hope you're looking for? I can't say I ever saw it that way..." Which just further solidifies this theory.
She lost hope, she can't adapt anymore, and she knows that it's just a matter of time before SHE gets killed, trying to protect her pride, she orchestrated the whole murder plan featuring the two most unstable, two most naive people in the class.

@@DeeDee-yr7yu Heck, from that angle, you could argue Celestia wanted to weed out the naive and unstable people just so that they won't serve as hinderance for the others. That's the true gamble, that's the true gambit: Celestia decided to sacrifice some students to prevent them from committing mistakes that could cost her or anyone else.

The most infuriating thing is that Celeste could have easily defended herself and shot down all the evidence.
    1) “Those guys” could be everyone who already died.
    2) Why the hell would Celeste tell Hifumi her real name? And it is honestly rude for Makoto to insinuate Celestia is not her real name.
