  • I wanted to visit Mr. Chai-Wala - Kantstraße 31, 10625 Berlin - for years. Situated on an avenue in Berlin famous for its top Asian restaurants, I rather wanted to try to last noodle dish and was always too full to prioritize it. #berlintravelguide #wheretoeat
This summer though, it finally happened and my only regret is that I haven´t tried it earlier. The ambiance is colourful, that pop-art energy that you don´t see it too often when it comes to decor of Indian restaurants in Berlin.
During the summer days, one can comfortably seat outdoors, and enjoy the street watching - as I love to do in the summer.
The service is friendly and fast, exactly what you need for a short yet delicious lunch break. Their lunch offer is replenishing: it offers a thali (plate in Hindi) - selection made of different regional meals - including a dessert - served on a plate (hence the name). The drinks are not included. The meal was a very balanced combination of tastes, neutralized by the sauces. If you are not used with the sharp consistency of the currys your taste buds may be schoked at the beginning, but give some time and everything will settle eventually.
Mr. Chai-Walla also offers a varied selection of currys, and dosas - what I had in mind to try when I arrived there, but maybe another time.
