  • The Ford Focus RS is instant hot hatch royalty with every new iteration of its iconic name. But the Mk2 in particular has already reached such a godlike status in the performance car world, that their used prices skyrocketed to the likes of the Renault Clio V6.
With a monstrous 300 horsepower turbocharged FF platform, forgiving manual gearbox, outlandish visuals and an already best selling platform underneath, its not hard to see why. So let's take a hands on look at the car which probably singlehandedly accounts for 99% of lime green car sales in history...Let's review the Ford Focus RS!

I bought one because i always wanted a series 1 Escort RS turbo. I view the Focus RS as the modern day Escort RS turbo. You are right they are lots of fun to drive. The slight turbo lag makes it feel old skool but its not enough to be annoying and just kind of adds to the fun.

Plenum only if running over standard , plus rear arches , dodgey wiring on instrument cluster . Leaking oil filter housing . At this age now suffering from gearbox seal leaks . Easy cheap fix though. Other than that over 7 years and still loving it .

Most cars become boring with time, this isn't one of those. It's a mechanical thing that wants to dance with you and that wastegate fluttering is like the car is laughing at every gear change. Inspiring thing to drive. And that engine... never runs out of steam, there's a torque monster under the bonnet.

You can get a sequential box for them . Love the flapping bonnet vent and flashing light on dash

It's a uncomplicated car with no frills but with plenty under the bonnet when you need it. Yes it could of been a lot more modern but i like that about my rs old school with a good looking body. 👍

Fantastic car, had mine just over 5 years, only issue I’ve had was the abs wires but simple fix, Keep thinking about replacing the car but can’t find anything I would prefer.

Nice, I know the feeling with my classic. Best case scenario would just be finding something similar, which makes the change pointless

I to have a 2010 green one had it about 7 years now the only car I've had for so long. It's the one that still puts a smile on my face when it goes on a run.

I cannot agree that a golf and a3 turns in better. I’ve owned a Mk2 rs from new and have covered 70k miles in mine. Not many people have done that milage in one.

Adding AWD and DSG turns it into an RS3
