  • This is my weight loss triathlon transformation story going from 215 pounds to 155 pounds. When I started as a beginner triathlete I was afraid of the water, didn't own a bike, and couldn't run to the end of the block, I eventually became a top 1% in the world triathlete.

    Thanks for getting personal and sharing your story. I love watching your channel each week and seeing some of the weekend athletes that you’ve inspired at other races that I do makes me realize the reach that you’ve had on people.

    It has been a long time since Ive seen one of your videos...but I can say this...I too got off track when covod hit and just quit everything. I have packed on pounds and then had a hysterectomy a year and a half ago. Earluer this year I decided it was time to get healthy again, i changed my nutrition again and went back to plant based anti-inflammatory recipes because that's where I started the first time. Lately, i have had the urge to get back to working out, so I thought of you and came to your page like I did YEARS ago. Not to relive what I accomplished but to glean from your knowledge. And, ONCE AGAIN, you have inspired me. You are a treasure, and Im grateful I listened to my gut to check out your RUclips channel again. Thank you for doing what you're doing. Congratulations on Mottiv!! Im going to check out what you all offer there and then get back to a form of fitness I miss. Best to you, your team, and your fabulous wife! 🙏🏾👍🏾 I'll keep watching 😊

I can’t wait to see the next part of your journey. Let me know if you’re ever in Vancouver and I’ll buy you a coffee! You and NTK take care of yourselves ❤🙏

    Crazy to watch this video and see the resemblance of myself currently (28 years old from alberta) and your story and we share the same name lol
    I've spent my twenties getting absolutely blasted every chance I could and making excuses for it, but thats not a sign to sort my shit out I dont know what is, decided to commit and hopefully i'll comment on here once ive completed my first triathlon thanks.

    Your description of not being built for running rings too true for me as well 😂
    I have always loved running but becoming an endurance runner has always been a challenge. I got them thunder thighs and I’m a shorty at 5’ 9”

    Hi Taren, although I am double your age, my life was just like your...I was 205 @ 60, now at 62 I am down to 173, and working my way down to 165 in the next month...for several reasons...funny to say, the older and more fat burning a loss, the better I feel...

    I lost 125 pounds over the last 16 months through running and then running and cycling. I want to do my first two triathlons next year - a sprint in April and a olympic in July. I am glad I found your channel and will definitely check out your site.

      @@TriathlonTaren I have pics from when I started and of course pics today. I didn't mention also that I'm 53! So not all that young. When I first got started I was 308 lbs and now I am at 182. At first I could only walk 15-20 minutes on a treadmill but now I am doing long runs of 12-16 miles. This past weekend I biked 57 miles (with a group) and ran 12 miles the next day. I just have to figure out the swimming! LOL If you have a place to send them, I am happy to send you those photos.

    Thank you. You are an inspiration. I am 56 and getting back to training and setting myself an Ironman at 60. I would like to do an Olympic triathlon distance as a building block. But need to train for swimming- overcome my fear of it. How can I join Team Mottiv?

      You can certainly join MOTTIV. If you really struggle with swimming you can use MOTTIV and use our book Triathlon Swimming Foundations to help a little more with the swim portion of things

    Love your channel!!!...Question..I have the same resting heart rate and max heart rate that you have...182 49...I'm 60 but that isn't a factor...correct? for the Karvonen method. Zone 2 in the 140 range. I looked up Maffatone method 180 minus my age (60) giving me a Zone 2 of 120....how can there be such a difference?...Struggling with this...please help this 19:54 5k 60 year runner who has been running for 45 years...thanks!!!

    Good video, but you never explained how you solved the stomach issues (I'm in the exact same position). Surely you didn't just create an app and your stomach problems went away?

    • @TriathlonTaren
      @TriathlonTaren  11 месяцев назад

      I'm still working on the stomach, it'll be a lifelong thing. Reducing stress is a big part of it

      @@TriathlonTaren so it wasn't an issue with the biome that you took probiotic or anything like that? If stress relief has made it go away I wonder if your body just wasn't flushing cortisol like it used to (causing fat retention), a common cause of weight gain in athletes
