Different US missiles that the F-35 can shoot, or at least 1 doesn't require a favorable position. The F-35 offers a full view both visually and a large view with electronics and that's all that's required to shoot at least 1 type of missile they can carry. It's no longer the old days where you need to have a target in front of you to shoot unless you're talking about bullets.

Assuming that your descriptions of the J-35 and F-35C are accurate, why wouldn't China be working on changes to their J-35 and associated missiles to counter the weaknesses that you are pointing out. How is it that you are able to find out all of this tactical info? I would not expect either China or the US to make this information public, which would allow the other side would develop countermeasures.
