Hi Dr Lum! Thank you for the content! It has been very helpful...I am soon to be a PYG2 FM resident in an unopposed program which is heavy in inpatient. Im planning to work as a hospitalist once i graduate. How do yo see the Hospitalist marker for FP physicians? Was it difficult for you to find a job?
I’m completing my 2nd year of FM residency and am thinking about part time hospital medicine in addition to having a free clinic. We are currently required to complete 1 month of ICU and 13 months of inpatient med. Is that enough? How many months do hospitals generally require? Thank you!
you can become a hospitalist if your residency trained you to manage patients in the hospital setting. Fellowships are a great way when we feel incompetent in a certain area in the event where you do not have inpatient experience
Our beloved Dr Lum! Happy hospitalist day .❤️❤️

Is an internal medicine doctor the same as a Hospitalist?
Hospitalist can be trained in internal medicine, family medicine or pediatrics. So yes, IM docs can be hospitalists too.
@@NinaLum thanks!

it is not enough, I recommend picking an elective in the ICU
