Trumpets sound shrill, harsh, they peak in the frequencies where the ear is the most sensitive and they don't seem to have any body at all, it's just shrillness. I never understood Miles Davis, it makes my ears bleed. I like John Coltrane a lot though

Cat sounds fantastic. He really makes his instrument sing. Also, his trombone must have been very shiny too (polished to perfection) . In the black and white footage, underneath the studio lights, glare was created from said brass.
Cat Anderson was one of the greatest high note trumpet players who ever grace a stage. I wanna play the trumpet which such great finiese. Rest in Peace.
