Glad to see the acknowledged there was in issue and taking steps to correct. Would seem they could just make the left & right sides so that they end up the same distance. Max, time for you to come out with a product to address?
There is no possibility for me to compete with companies that make all of their products in China. I have to very carefully find odd things that "not everyone will buy", and hope that when I make them, they don't get knocked off.
One thing I did with those plastic covers is left the screws loose and put alot of force on the cover until it lined up how I wanted it to then tighten the little screws. Not perfect but the top and sides have no gap now.
@@Traxxion yes it does... It did kinda deform lip on that cover where the peg arm bolts to but once the arm is installed you cant see it. Not perfect. Hopefully kuryakyn can make improvements on the redesign... Feel like kuryakyn kinda needs to make it right for people that's already bought kits and send them new plastic covers if they redesign those.... My only complaint was that plastic cover and either those bolts being too long or too much powered coating in the threaded holes.
Did you know if Kuryakyn ever released a redesign of this product? And is the product # (6751) the same? Looks like these clamp on to the engine guards directly verses gold strike has a bolt going into engine casing. Also which in your opinion has better cornering clearance, Kuryakyn or Goldstrike. Thank you
I don't know if they have done any redesign, I know they had pulled them from the market. Regardless of cornering clearance, I would not use the Kuryakyn ones as they were made.
They are Kuryakyn. We don't recommend them. The right side and brake pedal is poorly designed. Goldstrike are the best and most versatile we've seen, with 3 widths to choose from.
Hey Max…..i see that you have the same problem as I had on my first package. When you took the camera on top of the bike, I notice that you have TWO PEGS FROM THE SAME SIDE. If you look at the disign of the pegs, the insert from the left peg is on top, and the one from the right side is at the bottom. So you got two left or two right, depending on your liking. I had contacted Kuryakyn and they sent me another kit with a left and right peg…….just for your information
So does it have two left or two right pegs on those highway bars the rubbers dont match from what im seeing that is killing my OCD.... Poor guy needs to return those....
There is obviously not a lot of research and development and quality assurance gone into that product and why produce hardware that is half and half and why not all metric like the bike ? You make the product, submit it to Kuryakyn and then get a royalty for every unit sold !
I sent kuryaken an email with my concerns about mine not lining up properly and they responded by saying that Honda has variances in their machines that are causing mis alignments with their highway mounts. I was floored that they would actually blame Honda for their parts not fitting, specifically because they are made in CHINA and Everyone knows about China's work ethic and practices.
That is simply astounding. You take a perfectly fitting Honda crash guard off the bike, hold their part up to, it fits like shit, and they say the Honda part is the problem?!?!?!
Made in CHINA says everything you need to know but in the end it still comes from kuryaken after they inspected them and put them on the market, bad on them so they are the ones to blame for poor quality.
Going with the goldstrike pegs. Easy install and look great
Good choice!

I suppose you might be able to slot the plastic holes some, but it does fit pretty tight around the block of aluminum.

@@Traxxion true I did kinda use "my only" kinda loosely there.

Are the pegs adjustable? Can they go farther away from the seat?
It's been a few years, but I think that's what the other holes are for
Max,
What floor/foot boards are those on that bike? The ones you stepped on to get on the bike.
They are Kuryakyn. We don't recommend them. The right side and brake pedal is poorly designed. Goldstrike are the best and most versatile we've seen, with 3 widths to choose from.

Yeah I'm going to ask for matching pegs on Monday, but I hope they haven't sent them all back to China yet.
Im waiting for someone to make some longer stock(front and rear) location crash bars.
A couple questions... Which rider floorboards do you recommend, for the 22 GW and have you developed a highway bar set- up yet, for the 18+ Goldwing?
We like the Goldstrike floor boards. Not sure what you mean by highway bars.
He's right.
My wife gets tired of saying that... :)
I was thinking the same thing. I have the Goldstrike but they really don’t go out far enough for my comfort level
So does it have two left or two right pegs on those highway bars the rubbers dont match from what im seeing that is killing my OCD.... Poor guy needs to return those....
Unfortunately, you are right!!!!
Never putting any Kuryakyn garbage on my bike.
