An important note is that maximum engine power was obtained at only 5,000 ft, not at altitude, since it was a low altitude fighter and the engine only had a one speed one stage supercharger. "There is no replacement for displacement".

Got to see the Planes of Fame Super Corsair race at Reno. Very impressive.
