I am working my way through all of your videos. Was so happy to find your channel! I am a former pre-K teacher. I have been at home with my daughter since she was born. She is 3.5 now. This August she is starting half day preschool, and I will be teaching a 2 year class. I am also working on my MED with a focus on early childhood.
Did you have one canvas for each child or some in a specific area? Also how did you attach the felt to the canvas? Would painting them black work also? Or do you like the texture of the felt?
I have 6 of them and use those for small groups. I then put them in Toys and Games area for children to use. I also have one big one for felt stories. I used a staple gun to attach the felt to the wood on the canvas. I do like the texture of the felt but I am sure black paint would also work too!
Hi, I made a display with loose parts ex: basket with corks, basket with lids, basket with wooden blocks etc... I am giving the children a tray & they go to choose the loose parts they wish. The issue is that they are choosing too many stuff, even stuff which they don't end up using. Do you have any rules? Like choose 2 jars? Do you display all the loose parts all together like I'm doing? Or do you take out a few at a time? Thank you
It has varied with each group. One year, no matter how many times I taught and modeled and explained, the students would dump them all out. I ended up limiting to several jars on the shelves. The photo in the video was a year when I could have them all out. I think, like with all materials, it is so important to show them what can be done with the materials and how to tidy them up.

Good for you and good luck in August!
My doctors office used to give me their recycling lol. Amazing loose parts :)
Did you make the black felt boards? I remember you sharing them in another video but I forgot where you got them. Love all the ideas!
I ddi make them. I bought a canvas at a craft store and covered it with black felt (also from the craft store).

Hi, I know this video is old but do you have a copy of the letter you sent home to parents with the bags?
I just went through my google docs and couldn't find it!
