should have put dino harvesting to 0x too, as long as you didn't want them to be able to harvest. but i think wandering and collecting wouldn't be cheating. anyway, i'd have a moschops army at the start as my bodyguards

Dude this video did NOT feel like 1 hour. You managed to keep it incredibly interesting. Especially in the broodmother fights, I was on the edge of my seat. Also amazing music choice. The drop on the roar in the last added a lot as well. For a first video this is such high class. Applause.
One thing I noticed is throughout this video a recurring issue was the lack of saddles but monke can wear a helmet which would've provided some protection and I noticed that you had many unused helmets from drops even though most of them were cloth hats which wouldn't have provided much armour I guess, but still it would've helped...
@@valiofdeath9716 its just that its rare for shoulder pets to take any damage so mesos and sinos rarely break helmets, but gigantos are actively getting hit constantly ao itll break even faster than armor would on a player most likely.

Literally a brilliant ark video, I am currently in love with 100 days videos of ark but most are very repetitive. This one is a whole different level. You did crazy work and didn't just give up after loosing several times. Huge respect to you!
Most of the 100 days videos are edited in the way that people are using GFI commands , unless the ones that are live streaming, which aren't many. However, the videos are nice, just for the content. But don't get fooled, 90 % of them aren't really legit.

Your actually so crazy for doing this and actually making it work. This is probably the most impressive 100 days I have ever seen. Even though you 'failed' the challenge, I believe beating the Broodmother like this is enough of a success and accomplishment. Good job man, Genuinely Fucking Amazing.
This is why the settings customization is my favorite part about ark. Turning just one important setting to 0 (or others to absurd amounts) creates such an interesting challenge, there's probably countless other challenges you could do like this

Metal structures can be found in blue and yellow drops to give you metal ingots. If there was a means to get a grinder, you could grind all the extra little stuff you found for resources for saddles, guns, etc.
I overlooked this video a couple of times in my feed but finally decided to just go for it. It was much more entertaining than I had expected actually, made the hour feel like a few minutes. Usually I play games and listen to videos more than watching them, but this one I just watched fully

Hope this helps, but Megatherium can be tamed with honey, and it give them really good taming effectiveness, too! So if you get a rare flower and tame a giant bee, you can use Megatherium for the brood. You can also tame a dung beetle in those easy caves and use him to convert poop to fertilizer. You'll just have to use leed meat to keep him fed. That should help you keep your farms going for much longer and help you there. :)
As the 100 days challenges are pretty popular, youtube keeps recommending me them. But this one was quite enjoyable. Kudos for your persistence and creativity.

this was cool.. some tips for next adventure 1. megatheriums are omnivores.. so can be tamed with berries and/or honey 2. you can get every resource, meat, polymer, metal ingots, sap for cakes etc from fishing using fishing rods (its not harvesting technically but it will kill the purpose of this grind so maybe not) 3. Tame a bear to get honey or tame bees using flower from beaver dam 3. monkeys can wear cloth / chitin armor helmets.. the amount of looting u doing from the carnivores should give u endless supply of those 4. getting underwater artifacts may be done if u can tame a speed dolphin and diplocaulus using simple kibble - if crop plots and getting fish meat from leadseeds is allowed 5. get dung beetles for endless supply of fertiliser Megapethicus is easier to kill compared to broodmother. i really enjoyed this and i look forward to the next one.. subbed!
hey! I don't know if you just didn't have the resources or armor, but putting helmets on your monkeys could also really help with their survivability. getting some sort of water mount could also help as the deep sea drops could yield high tier saddles and armor. If you could manage to kill an alpha mosa or tuso somehow, you might also be able to tame a tusoteuthis, since those alphas drop guaranteed black pearls not linked to harvesting. you could also tame an otter for the colder caves since they use drag fish instead of meat. I really think that if you restart with all the knowledge and experience you gathered in this video, you could definitely beat the overseer in 100 days. You got this man.
wait wtf this is quality content af, one of the best and most entertaining vids I’ve seen in a while, thought u had like 100k+ subs and just now going thru the comments I realized u didn’t. Also that last fight you failed was so heartbreaking and considering 1. you wouldn’t have enough time to try again before the 100 days was up, and 2. you still had to basically do the whole process over again cuz of day 92 save file, that is 100% fine. Glad you were honest about going back in time to refight to boss with better strats. Shows some real commitment to the challenge. Yeah as time consuming to watch, this was a good ark video, easy going, flows well, no incessant screeching and screaming. Good level of humility and transparency surrounding the save file and what not. Loved the little politician speech at the end, "just give me another 100 days, I have a plan" 😂 Respect. I genuinely thought this was a brilliant idea/satire, with the sheer purpose of the gameplay is to defeat the overseer while being able to loot initial items only from overseer's supply drops... Something weird I noticed was after killing a raptor who was harvesting an Argentavis I opened it inventory and It had some meat and hide from the bird. So technically you could knock out a creature whilst eating something and it would already have food inside but this would be impractical with large carnivores and herbivores.

In short: entertaining, but not an honestly played scenario. The reason for this: I thought it was a really good idea until I realized you weren't being completely honest. With the statement: "Most people play Ark Survival Evolved on boosted rates servers.... But has anyone ever beat the game on 0x harvesting rates? Is it even possible?" you imply that you only lowered harvest rates and everything else is standard. But that is not the case. You play on boosted rates yourself. 10x EXP, 5x Taming, and pretty sure many other boosted rates as well. I realize that these rates don't help you harveste, but they make the rest of this challenge a lot easier, which lessens the restriction with harvesting. So if you imply that you play standard with 1 constraint, then you should stick to it. I think so. However, the fact that you showed how you restored the previous state at the end is honest on the one hand, but (as you say yourself) cheating.
Sorry if it wasn’t clear, but I can’t make the intro boring. I put all the rates in a comment, and playing on 1x is not normal whatsoever. The challenge was no harvesting. The other rates aren’t going to effect the outcome, just make it take longer. The exact same thing would happen but would take 4-5x as long, but I see where you’re coming from.

If not, it should be pointed out. Otherwise it is misleading. Default... thats what the official settings are. The default settings of the game (1x). Or do you really want to tell me that your rates are "normal"? :) "The other rates aren’t going to effect the outcome, just make it take longer." - I totally disagree here. Especially the the higher rates on the other stuff makes it much less difficult in several cases. 2 smaller examples where this rates have an impact: the tames are less long in their baby phase, which means you had to look for food less and also less often than you normally would. The same is true for taming dinos. It doesnt "just" save time... it skips a lot of effort and the dangers that are involved in a "survival game". People know why they raise up this rates. It makes it also easier. You should know that. Especially after (what you said) 4k+ hours in this game. And thats the problem with people playing on private servers with high rates. They skip parts of the game while not knowing how impactful this rates really are. Same with you. You are greatly underestimating these rates and the impact at the game. Dont get me wrong this is pure critic and no hate or so. :) As I said, I really liked the idea. But it also showed the flaws in your setup.
I meant for the video, it would look exactly the same, but take longer on my part. It wouldn’t make any logical sense to do that. I’ve played original official pvp on 1x and raised gigas that have to be hand fed for 18 hours to reach the trough, trust me I would’ve been perfectly capable of it, but this video would’ve had to be 1000 days and I’d upload once per year. When I say it’s not ‘normal’ I meant for RUclips. Watch literally any 100 days, almost all of them play on higher rates than I am, and faster days. (I realized the other day my recording is 3x longer than some of them) They don’t specify, because it simply doesn’t affect the entertainment value as a viewer unless they were to go to the extreme. I appreciate your feedback but you’re in the minority, as most people would rather get better videos more often, but I will start putting rates at the top of the description though if that helps!
I greatly enjoyed this. One little bit of hindsight that might've helped would've been to tame a Lystro... XP buff saves you some time and a few ape lives. lol

I don't think I've seen this type of challenge before for Ark so it was interesting to see. I also think that taming a pachy would help with taming so that you don't need to spend as much on taming stuff. Keep it up I would love to see more of these types of challenges.
GOD i forgot about that jump when you went in the lava cave but my heart sank when you were running up because i remembered losing tames there back in the day. this was legendary, despite not achieving an almost an unobtainable goal the gamma brood kill was awesome! GGs. fun editing as well. I'm glad you were cool with using the Leed meat because man, you really don't have much going for you when you can't harvest anything. that was really entertaining
My reasoning is that things like leed meat or bee honey, when ‘collected’ do not give any more than 50 or 5 even if you’re on 999999x, so since they don’t scale I allowed it. Glad you liked the video!

The cloth helmets would break instantly during a boss fight tho, because unlike saddles it has durability

4. getting underwater artifacts may be done if u can tame a speed dolphin and diplocaulus using simple kibble - if crop plots and getting fish meat from leadseeds is allowed
5. get dung beetles for endless supply of fertiliser

hey! I don't know if you just didn't have the resources or armor, but putting helmets on your monkeys could also really help with their survivability. getting some sort of water mount could also help as the deep sea drops could yield high tier saddles and armor. If you could manage to kill an alpha mosa or tuso somehow, you might also be able to tame a tusoteuthis, since those alphas drop guaranteed black pearls not linked to harvesting. you could also tame an otter for the colder caves since they use drag fish instead of meat.
I really think that if you restart with all the knowledge and experience you gathered in this video, you could definitely beat the overseer in 100 days. You got this man.

Also that last fight you failed was so heartbreaking and considering 1. you wouldn’t have enough time to try again before the 100 days was up, and 2. you still had to basically do the whole process over again cuz of day 92 save file, that is 100% fine. Glad you were honest about going back in time to refight to boss with better strats. Shows some real commitment to the challenge. I’m genuinely surprised by the amount of effort of this video and he is such a small RUclipsr and I hope this man can go big with this game.
Something weird I noticed was after killing a raptor who was harvesting an Argentavis I opened it inventory and It had some meat and hide from the bird. So technically you could knock out a creature whilst eating something and it would already have food inside but this would be impractical with large carnivores and herbivores.

In short: entertaining, but not an honestly played scenario.
The reason for this:
I thought it was a really good idea until I realized you weren't being completely honest.
With the statement: "Most people play Ark Survival Evolved on boosted rates servers.... But has anyone ever beat the game on 0x harvesting rates? Is it even possible?"
you imply that you only lowered harvest rates and everything else is standard.
But that is not the case. You play on boosted rates yourself. 10x EXP, 5x Taming, and pretty sure many other boosted rates as well.
I realize that these rates don't help you harveste, but they make the rest of this challenge a lot easier, which lessens the restriction with harvesting.
So if you imply that you play standard with 1 constraint, then you should stick to it. I think so.
However, the fact that you showed how you restored the previous state at the end is honest on the one hand, but (as you say yourself) cheating.
Sorry if it wasn’t clear, but I can’t make the intro boring. I put all the rates in a comment, and playing on 1x is not normal whatsoever. The challenge was no harvesting. The other rates aren’t going to effect the outcome, just make it take longer. The exact same thing would happen but would take 4-5x as long, but I see where you’re coming from.

- The moment you say that you have JUST lowered the harvest rate to 0x then (according to this statement) the rest should be set to default. If not, it should be pointed out. Otherwise it is misleading. Default... thats what the official settings are. The default settings of the game (1x). Or do you really want to tell me that your rates are "normal"? :)

- I totally disagree here. Especially the the higher rates on the other stuff makes it much less difficult in several cases. 2 smaller examples where this rates have an impact: the tames are less long in their baby phase, which means you had to look for food less and also less often than you normally would.
The same is true for taming dinos.
It doesnt "just" save time... it skips a lot of effort and the dangers that are involved in a "survival game".
People know why they raise up this rates. It makes it also easier.
You should know that. Especially after (what you said) 4k+ hours in this game.
And thats the problem with people playing on private servers with high rates. They skip parts of the game while not knowing how impactful this rates really are.
Same with you. You are greatly underestimating these rates and the impact at the game.

As I said, I really liked the idea. But it also showed the flaws in your setup.
I meant for the video, it would look exactly the same, but take longer on my part. It wouldn’t make any logical sense to do that. I’ve played original official pvp on 1x and raised gigas that have to be hand fed for 18 hours to reach the trough, trust me I would’ve been perfectly capable of it, but this video would’ve had to be 1000 days and I’d upload once per year.
When I say it’s not ‘normal’ I meant for RUclips. Watch literally any 100 days, almost all of them play on higher rates than I am, and faster days. (I realized the other day my recording is 3x longer than some of them) They don’t specify, because it simply doesn’t affect the entertainment value as a viewer unless they were to go to the extreme.
I appreciate your feedback but you’re in the minority, as most people would rather get better videos more often, but I will start putting rates at the top of the description though if that helps!

I don't think I've seen this type of challenge before for Ark so it was interesting to see. I also think that taming a pachy would help with taming so that you don't need to spend as much on taming stuff. Keep it up I would love to see more of these types of challenges.

GOD i forgot about that jump when you went in the lava cave but my heart sank when you were running up because i remembered losing tames there back in the day. this was legendary, despite not achieving an almost an unobtainable goal the gamma brood kill was awesome! GGs. fun editing as well. I'm glad you were cool with using the Leed meat because man, you really don't have much going for you when you can't harvest anything. that was really entertaining
My reasoning is that things like leed meat or bee honey, when ‘collected’ do not give any more than 50 or 5 even if you’re on 999999x, so since they don’t scale I allowed it. Glad you liked the video!
