Grinding is an art, and I've ground a bunch in my time. Done correctly, a proper grind will do wonders for ball flight and turf interaction. Once did an iron set for a guy with an upright swing, leading edge bevel, heel relief, and a 1/8" wide bounce edge about along the sole midway between heel and leading edge. Stopped all turf drag for a 3 handicapper with an upright swing. It was the Srixon sole before Srixon.
l love this video. I am awaiting a multitool so I can start practicing grinds on clubs. I wished you would listed the types of bets and wheels in the description and what steps in the process they are to be used. But, I really do appreciate the time you take for the videos. Music is a bit distracting, I wear hearing aids and have to adjust volume. thank you sir!
And now I know what a tour grind basically is, great stuff. I'm sure there are some skilled grinders who wouldn't have to use a sharpie outline to follow. But when you're grinding once in a blue moon ... best to color within the lines.
Loved my 14k 60, and I have a 56@55 (d) for the real floppy and cute stuff, but I use the 60 in the bunker. I took a bit off the back so that I can manipulate the face with forgiveness. Doesn’t take away from the simplicity and ease of the k, which is a cheat code by the way
I play a 58 deg. 08 bounce m-grind. Looks very similar to what what was demonstrated in the video. Am I playing a "tour grind"? I achieve 70 yards full swing, but open faced, it is very clutch around the green: specially on the second cut. Thanks and cheers!!!
Well now I know why I had such a hard time grinding an 8 iron into a tour strker, used a grind stone LOL. What is your opinion of Terry Koehler wedges and his patented sole he uses?
End product looked phenomenal

Great content Jim. Magician with those tools.
Thats pretty cool how you got what looks like a vacuum extractor on the table based on how the sparks are flying towards that vent register.
I know why you're so good at that, Jim. Must have been all those Monel rings you made when underway on the boat.😂 Outstanding work!
Absolutely
As always you are a master!
Looks great, nice process, thanks for sharing

Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it

Great content Jim! I picked up some tips I will use as I dial in the grind on the new wedges.

In assembling the club, how do you compensate for the ground off metal? Tip weights?
For club making , does weight and spine alignment matter? Can I put grip, shaft and head together and it work perfectly?
Is it mandatory to remove the head from the shaft before you start grinding ?
Great video! You’re so talented!❤
How much do you charge per club?
I mean, if I asked for a tour grind I would want a lot more off the heal. But that’s just me
How to get the proper head weight back?
The much removal isn’t very
Much but a tip weight can fix that in no time
I’ve found something I don’t think I deserve to watch 😂 im buying the cheapest clubs & grinding them
End product looks like an m grind to me
