The illusory egotistic self takes it upon itself what pure consciousness, in a mind posture, misinterprets mis-perceives and mis-experiences of itself as subject and objects dualities . Consciousness is all that there is. It is a sad thing consciousness is impersonating as an egotistic self that suffers from visual and experiential discrepancies.
There will not be. But it is not a state of jada / inert but a state of full vibrant consciousness that manifests existence, knowledge and happiness in its purest form. As Swami said in one lecture, if normal happiness is 10, this level is 10 power 20.
Why saints needs to travel before they attain the enlightenment. For example, Adi Shankracharya, Raman Maharishi, Gautam Buddha, Neem Karoli baba, Ganeshpuri Baba Nityanand, Baba Muktananda, Rang Avadhoot and many more... All this travel to gain knowledge/ experience about life? Or it is destined? Even we heared about the truth shared by Adi Shankracharya i.e. Aham brahmasmi but still the great followers travel and search. Why? Every time great Siddha's Yogi's travelled from North to south..to other countries as well..even they knew that God Dwells inside... I am just curious to know about this cycle or pattern of travelling and searching...and at the end...we find a Guru who share the treasure that God Dwells inside only.

Swamiji why use words like occult power. ? We have infinite powers in us . We are the children of the universe , and as such have unlimited powers within us. Words like psychic powers, occult are the kind of language people like Wendy Doniger , Kripal will use to subtly to insult hinduism s myriad tapestry.
It is occult until one has complete realization and knows that one only exists. The problem with these powers is that they are distractions and the Jiva should not think before becoming brahman 'I am brahman - so i have powers - what of it'. Before the bridge is crossed, one must be watchful of all pitfalls and therefore the word 'occult' is used.
Similar demeaning words used to describe sanatana dharma s peculiarities are cult, charlatan, superstition , clutch . This is a favourite word of J Krishnamurthy . In Sri ramakrishna s life Thotapuri asked him to use a sword to 'cut' the image of Kali mata to go beyond . Seemingly this image was a kind of clutch to Ramakrishna .But the same Thotapuri had one day , a severe stomach pain and he was ready to commit sucide in the river , and the story goes he saw an image of divine Kali Mata and he was cured. So what I can understand is there is a delicate balance here and we should not shame any system.
Totapuri didn't see an image of kalimataPl read saradanandas leelaprasanga Totapuri only realised that Divine Mother has a place in the scheme of things and that it cannot be brushed aside Jai Ma Kali!!!
