I opened this night up at doors as a kid trying to make his name in the djing world....they told me they had to cut my set short because they had a special guest and sure as shit AM was behind me 30 minutes later asking if he could use my records and needles. I looked at him and said "bro, of course, you're fucking DJ AM, of course you can". He laughed and said he still had to ask - and the look on his face made me realize he was still as humble as they come. That shit stuck with me forever.
Stumbled across this today and mannnn....rest in peace.

DJ AM is the DJ who inspired me to play Madonna in front of 100 true hiphop heads with no reservations and with big confidence. This guy perfected the mashup. Wish I could've followed him more when he was alive.

it's sweet mercy's remix called "reach out" which is a mix of laidback lukes "be" and robin s's "show me love", then into satisfaction. Not sure if its the swedish house mafia "be satisfied" mix or something he re-did himself.

You are right...I am a bit out the loop since I stopped DJing. But this song does sample the Robin S version and have you heard Michael Mind - Show Me Love? That one clearly is a remake of the Robin S classic!

Ur actually also wrong he's using Pioneer DJM 800 mixer...
@djicon3 Cause it is, you can clearly hear the bit crusher in a lot of his mixes as well as the reverb and LPF. All done on a TTM-57SL. He really used the capabilities of serato from top to bottom. Adam did an awesome job pulling this all together to make a great mix. I definitely miss AM and all of his creativity.

GOMEZK87, You are so damn right! There is a Pioneer CDJ MK 1000 right beside the Technics Turntables. But the Pioneer is not loaded.
How do I know? cuz the light on the jog wheel tells me so.
And DJAM is using a 2 channel Rane Scratch Mixer.
Therefore its quite obvious that he only use 2 turntables.
Get your facts right, b4 dis-ings others.

I knew someone would come defend AM on my comment... its all good man.. Unfortunately his past came back to haunt him cause he did OD right? Ohh and you dont know me or what I've lived.. especially in one night - I was knee deep into the club scene back in the 90's when it was raw for over 5 years straight. I've been there w/addictions, but I had enough control to come out of it. Cant say the same for AM. I am not one to judge but I can speak or voice my opinion based on experience.

to all you dummies who are saying he has four decks...from what ive seen an watched ..hes never used four ...ill tell you how he gets multiple songs going all at the same time though...samplers DUH. lol id know that because thats the only other thing i can think of that he does. he'll record a sample ...and play it how he wants to use it. thats how he mixed satisfaction with the voice of the lady saying be.. currently forgot the name of that song lol but yes..thats how its done.

@HunterDay10 Serato have build in sampler, and can easily be connected with several midi devices which trigger the samples. Most of the effects are probably in the mixer. :)
