Thanks again Richard and Carol for another enjoyable video! We were really impressed by those Paradors - although they’re definitely not cheap - some great roads too. Thanks for sharing! 😀👍
@midlifemotorcyclediaries Yep, those Paradors are nice, but they certainly put a dent in the budget. I'm sure you recognised some of those roads from the early stages of your current series. Always good to hear from you both.
Really enjoyed this series - you manage to blend the facets of the trip - roads, hotels, food, scenery etc into a lovely and balanced watch. Great stuff. Looking forward to what you do next on the bikes.👍
Those roads and coastal views look amazing. Thanks so much for your editorial efforts. They are really well received and appreciated. Looking forward to your next adventure. Pete
@Ormsmoto Yes, we've ridden some amazing roads over the week. Only a few people like yourself will appreciate how daunting a week's worth of 4K footage can be to work through and cut down. It's always good to hear from you.
A great tour, thanks for sharing. the hotels did look nice and a good way to celebrate a milestone birthday. Some of the roads looked amazing to ride as long as you avoid slippery cow pats. Well done to Carol for her brilliant planning, I couldn't have done it, needs a woman's touch.
@youngeroldie5089 I'm lucky Richard. Carol loves to plan, and she rides, so I don't need a big touring bike. I was a really great holiday. Cheers and best wishes to you 👍
Oh you have made me feel better, thought I was the only fool who came off on the wrong sliproads on Spanish motorways, then just as Carol says you find yourself on a totally different journey going who knows where and you can’t get back on like you can at home. Have really enjoyed this trip, looking forward to the next one wherever that maybe be. Thanks both of you.
@GSHants Yes, we've had our share of foreign motorway mistakes. Last year, while trying to do a circular route around Mont Blanc, we took a wrong turn. We were heading towards Turin! We should have been heading back into France I'm just editing our next one-off UK trip. Hopefully, it should be up next Saturday. Thanks for watching
@davidryan6837 Thanks for watching David. Hope you manage to get out to the area. Sadly by now, it's 60 and two months old, but I appreciate the good wishes
A very pleasant and relaxing ride back to Santander and the Hotel looked equally as good. Big thanks to Richard and Carol, looking forward to the next one. 👍
An excellent end to a wonderful trip celebrating a special birthday, a huge congratulations to Carol for organising it and a massive thank you for paying for it all. If it wasn't for the extra six hundred miles or so, I'd be tempted to give something similar a go. Thank you both for sharing it all with us.
@michaellilley6725 Thanks very much. As Carol out earns me ×3 I suspect she paid for most of it. Yes, it's a long ride from Scotland to either Portsmouth or Plymouth for the Spain ferry. I was going to say you would have a better chance of drier weather going south, but we got pretty wet on this tour.
The more you tour the less you take, I just take non iron shirts and shorts and wash me smalls. I once went to the Alps on a fully loaded GSA, never again. My Multi has two small panniers and a seat bag for overnight stops and everyday stuff. That’s a lovely part of Spain, especially on the old roads, first time I went there were very few motorways at all. Thanks for a great trip👍
@IanTed I don't think bike weights are a problem for us having our own bikes. I'm happy to have a T shirt and a pair of pants for each day when away for just over a week. Yep we loved the area. We would definitely make more of an effort to not use motorways next time. We're still happy with what we achieved. It was our first move on daily Euro tour but definitely won't be the last. Thanks again for watching.
Did I see a telephone in that toilet in the last hotel?😂 Have to say, I'm very impressed with those Paradores. And that last road looked like a beaut, beware them cowpats though! 😂 Brilliant series, thank you both, really enjoyed those. Oh, and I think everyone needs a Carol in their life 👊
@tojj29 Yep, phone next to the toilet 😆 You definitely don't want to go down on a cow-pat! Appreciate you watching. There's plenty we would do differently if we return, but on the whole, we had a great time. I'm happy to admit I'm lucky to have Carol around. Not only a good rider but she planned all the routes and booked all the accommodation. A keeper I think
@johnterry804 It's a brilliant tour. Perhaps go a couple of weeks later than us and skip the toll motorways in this last episode. Given more time, we want to push further into Andorra and towards the other coast.
@MotoMark55 Thanks. Well, in a roundabout way, she possibly has. She's certainly got a better paying job than me. Being on older gentleman, I'm winding down to retirement 😉
Hi carol Thks for that. Yes I was talking to a French tourist travelling in ulster two up on a red 2010 model and found it comfortable. Yes she is a keeper in my opinion. Enjoy
Carol can really "haul the mail" on her Triumph! I'm a little late to the vid but still a treat such good quality. Next week I'm heading out for a ride with two nephews and hopefully we will stay out of trouble.
She can get a move on occasionally. With your Bonneville salt flat exploits, I'm surprised you've had a chance to watch much RUclips 😄 Hope your trip goes well next week. Best wishes and take care
Enjoyed the series guys, we have stayed in paradors in the past always been good, seen it was for your 60ith special birthday Richard money well spent 👍
@alanread136 Thanks Alan. It was a very memorable trip. Loved the Parador experience and riding in Spain. Thanks for watching the series, appreciate it. 🙏
Well some great places to be having breakfast really nice , you have to give the Spanish their due they no how to put together fantastic hotels and those Paradors are certainly no exception .Fantastic trip really enjoyed watching and appreciate your very detailed look at all the accommodation. Those roads were just fabulous although probably best no to hoon around them with the beasties wandering around 😉 thanks for sharing what a trip .👌👍
@crumblymal8479 That Hondarribia Parador was amazing. Probably the most interesting place I've ever eaten breakfast in that half roofed castle courtyard. Many of the Spanish and French Pyrenees roads have cow hazards. It's best just to take your time. Thanks again for watching
What a great trip and a bit sad to see it all coming to an end. Time for reflection and a well-earned rest away from the bike's for a while no doubt. Thanks again to you both and looking forward to your next adventure. Take care for now.
@davidlutton4560 It was a great trip. It seems a while ago now as we set off 8th June. We have a UK based trip coming up next Saturday, all being well. Thanks for watching
You obviously had a great holiday guys. I have used paradors a couple of times and like you had a bit of trouble finding them! Thanks for taking us along😊
@grahamhunter3233 Cheers Graham. We did have a great time. We loved the Paradors and have realised less motorway is definitely better. Thanks for watching
Motorbike, Spain, nice scenery and Paradors. Excellent trip guys, very enjoyable. Paradors have that different feeling to them. The views from the bedroom in Ronda’s Parador on a short motorbike rental trip in late January this year, just blew the winter drag away. Great to watch, listen to your experiences. Well done guys. 👏👏
@ewendavidson8787 We still want to visit Ronda, we've heard it quite a special place. We've had so many great comments on this trip, yours included. Parador hotels are always unusual and a bit special. We've enjoyed all of the ones on this tour.
Cracking job there folks. Enjoyed this tour. I prefer to keep moving on with the odd 2 nighter. Sad times heading home but I always say, if you don't go home, you can't head off on holiday again 😉
Another good trip from you guys, we'll be on our way to Santander in 3 weeks for two week trip to Porto & back. Have used some of your road recommendations from the Picos trip in our itinerary. Cheers 👍🏻
@BrendanBaxter-md4vk I rode to Porto many years ago with a mate. There's some great riding to get there. The outskirts of Porto are a bit slow and tedious to ride, but it's worth it to get central Porto. The views near the bridge and the port houses illuminated in the evening 👌 Have a great trip. 👍
You are a lucky guy. This was a great gift from Carol. :) You mentioned Slovenia. If you ever decide to ride here, just let me know, we can do a stretch together. Also for some other info I am at your disposal. I don't know why, but it was very strange to see the empty ferry on your return. :)
@RRRRefuelRideRace Thanks, yes, I'm lucky to have Carol. We really appreciate your offer, we would love to visit your beautiful country at some point. The ferry was full when everyone was on board. Being the first bikes there, we were on first and parked in level 1 as low as you can get in the ship. That meant at Portsmouth, we were last off!
Another great video Richard and Carol. I get the feeling that you enjoyed the area, but perhaps enjoyed the roads more from your previous Picos videos. Nice to hear the MT10 a few times when you opened her up a little.
@RichardASK I definitely enjoyed seeing more places. This trip was more of a challenge. The Picos is super easy; 70 miles off the ferry to a base in Potes, then a circular ride out on amazing roads. Think the issue this time was more connected to the weather. Picos it was brilliant, Pyrenees it was cold and rained most days. Talking of the MT10, in the next video, I get my first issue with the bike in 8 years! Happened while on another trip.
Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous!!! That trip looked amazing start to finish. Well done guys! Oh did the hotel tell you to hide your bikes in case you lower the tone? 😂
Thanks. It was a fantastic trip, really enjoyable. On check-in at the final hotel, we learned there was a parking charge that was the same outside as it was in the cosy underground. It left the top car park open for the Jags, Mercedes and BMWs 😄
I'm 67 and 60 seemed like only yesterday. Budget permitting, just keep doing it. You can't take it with you and any government will take what's leftover!

@chris-way Thanks. All our UK stickers were bought off Amazon. The ones on the top box are standard car ones. My original one blew off on the ride to the ferry port so just bought one at the ferry terminal. They even sell them on the ferry. Appreciate the well produced comment. £3.5k for 2 is not too bad... I think it cost me around £2k 10yrs back to ride Dover, France, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, Portsmouth camping, so although your trip was shorter, you did it a lot fancier.
@HippoDrones Yep. We booked some expensive hotels as a treat. We still have a decent tent but we've certainly got out of the habit of camping. Our last motorcycle camping adventure was in Scotland and it was wet, very wet. When the rain stopped, the midges attacked!
Hi carol how did you find touring on the street triple? Comfortable enough? I like your throw over panniers, what make are they please and did you find them waterproof and good quality. Thanks for videoing your trip, very enjoyable. Thks
Hi, they are blaze panniers from s w motech, they are great, but not very waterproof, I pack everything in plastic bags before putting in there, then its ok. The bike is fantastic for touring, I am happy riding all day, the seat is comfy, I have no plans to change the bike as it suits me perfectly. Thanks for watching, best wishes, Carol.
