Stumbled on your channel prior the trials and forgot about it, then watched the finals and had to find the channel again :) will be wathcing the progress towards Tokyo :)
Wow, a lot of volume (mileage) for an 800 guy! Been 15 years since I competed, but I was under the impression that training for the 800 was more speed-focused nowadays. I suppose everybody has their own way with what aligns to their body.
@@benanastasoff8980 yeah I saw that Brazier has great range, having respectable PRs at the world level all the way from 400M to 5K. I was thinking someone like Rudisha, who's more of a 400/800 guy. I doubt that guys like him go more than 30mpw. Though I could be wrong.
@@Imslightlyobnoxious yeah, you’re probably right. But Rudisha’s career was short with a few sparkling moments of glory. He was injured a lot, so the high speed and low volume thing is probably right. Brazier used to be that kind of guy in his A&M days, but Pete Julian has him working on strength a little more. I don’t think Brazier actually has a globally competitive 5000, but there’s no doubt he could throw down significantly faster than the average person. If you look at the serious strength based 800 guys like Murphy, Timothy Cheruiyot, or Nick Symmonds, they would often run as much as 70 miles per week
Awesome content. I hope we can still see a bit of build up to the games.... As ling as it doesn't distract you. Gold medal before views ;) Masters 400m athlete.
Same thing with me. I can’t eat anything 4-5 hours before running. Doesn’t matter how light it is. A piece of bread would make my stomach uneasy close to my run. So many of my teammates have given me a concerned look when I don’t eat all day at a track meet when my race is in the evening
@@benanastasoff8980 I have found that I can intake calories via sports drinks like Gatorade, and it barely upsets my stomach, so maybe that could work for you too if you need a little bit of calories closer to the start of a race
I either don’t run from a car, or I make sure to have shorts with a special key pocket. Boas and all Nike shorts I’ve worn have a pocket that locks your key fob right in
Brazier is different than the average person. You could still get a decent long run in within 1hrs time. At that level, sub6 miles are easily achievable for a long run. That’d place him over 10 miles still, which is good enough for the 800
Crazy how you make sub 5 min miles look so easy keep up the good work!
Your world leading time brought me here! Can't wait to see you medal in Tokyo.
What a beast! Glad I found your channel, this is very motivating stuff.
Awesome video. You’re such an inspiration to us Ohio guys!

Just ran 10 miles through this exact area last week.

I think Clayton is more of a strength based 800 guy. He runs well in the 1500. Even the very speed based guys like Brazier run close to 50mpw at times

You’re tuff bro
Video was liiiiit🔥
you should sell your own merch
I really struggle to eat breakfast or any meal right before a run. I need to eat at least 4 hours before to be completely comfortable
Less fiber or find a specific food that works otherwise not much you can do
Bagel, peanut butter and coffee, can’t go wrong

How often do you train in the Vaporfly Next?
Please tell me one of your dogs' names is Pugsley.
Keep it up bruv
When your watch beeped I thought it was mine. Lol
he runs on the same trail my team does
Where is this trail? Looks really nice
@@benanastasoff8980 it’s called red lock towpath
Who you got: Clayton, Donovan, or Bryce Hoppel?
Cute pups
Where do you put your keys when you run? They can fall out your pants if you are running. Do you zip them up or what? No one ever talks about this!
you don't run or know any runners because it definitely gets talked about EVERY RUN
I keep mine in my pockets and they never fell out. Maybe your pockets are too shallow?
I either don’t run from a car, or I make sure to have shorts with a special key pocket. Boas and all Nike shorts I’ve worn have a pocket that locks your key fob right in
Never knew you were working out in NE Ohio.
A long run to me minimum is 10 miles anything beyond that. Well that depends how much pain you are willing to tolerate.
I would agree with that. I think even 800 runners should do real long runs like that
letsgooooooo
Donavan Brazier doesn’t run over an hour... and that didn’t turn out so well
he has a broken foot

my pace per mile is almost double that and im gassing for air at the end of my run...
Just stay consistent and running will get easier
🥇
Where is this?
Towpath that runs through Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Where do they find all these running spots with no hill 😂😂😂😂
