I have a Pusuit 2500 and 4000 size reels. I love them. Last trip down to Gulf Shores Alabama I caught a huge Black Drum off the State Park Pier with my Pursuit III 4000 reel on a 6'6' Ugly Stik GX2 medium power, 12 lb monofilament. The drum was peeling drag off the reel like crazy but it held up and I got the fish landed! I just ordered a size 3000 medium light combo. I like the 2500 size too. Great reels.
Nice video. I love my Pursuit IIs. The HT-100 carbontex drags have been around for a long time, but they just recently started putting them in these lower cost reels. You can buy a set of HT-100 washers for a few bucks and put them in your Pursuit II, FYI.
hello, how do you know what fishing rod can accommodate the spinning reel size especially for a Sz 5000/6000 Spinning real as many real seats are to small. an accomodate Sz 4000 and below. Would a Uglystik Bigwater or a ugly stik catfish rod fit a bigger reel or the shimano saguaro?? Any info would be helpful, awsome video!!!! I have a new Quantum PT Reliance Sz55
I would go with an ugly stick big water spinning rod in a 7 to 11 foot length size depending on how far you want to cast. (a longer rod will cast farther)
There are many videos on youtube about servicing reels so I don't know if I will, but I can give you a general description of what I do to service them. 1. Unscrew all screws and carefully deconstruct the reel part by part, (this may require looking at the online model of the reel with all its parts to understand how everything fits together and comes apart) 2. Once the reel is fully disassembled, wipe any exterior parts that appear corroded with a rag and some reel oil 3. As after all exterior parts are cleaned, begin to carefully clean out the old grease and any debris that is inside the reel with a rag, cotton swab, or by carefully rinsing it out in the sink. 4. Once all old grease and or debris is cleared from the reel, begin to apply new reel grease with cotton swab or the small tool sometimes provided with the grease to spread it around the inside of the reel (Make sure to use a lot of grease around the gears as this is where the grease will improve your reels performance). Vaseline can be used as a substitute for reel grease if you do not have any, however do NOT use vaseline if you are fishing in extreme heat (95 degrees +) or extreme cold (40 degrees or less) 5. Once the interior of the reel if fully greased, then you can reassemble the reel (again, you may need to use an online part model to put the reel back together in the right order, hopefully that helped!

got the IV 2500. we will see how it compares to my stradic 3k
Best under 100 dollar reel, performs like a 500 dollar range reel.
Agreed, this is why I own 5 of them

also what is the optimal Monofiliment LB test for a Sz 50/55/60 Spinning reel??
I would say either 25lbs or 30lbs monofilament would be optimal for a 50/55/60 size spinning reel
And an ugly stik big water will accommodate a 5000 or 6000 size spinning reel, not sure about the shaimano saguaro rod as I have never owned one
I put my 6000 on a ugly stik catfish rod fits just fine out on a little under 200 yds of 50lb mono.
thx for the review what size rod would u use for all around surf fishing at the beach for the 6000
