Very nice job duff. Hopefully you like it and get great use out of it my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God bless.
Hey Duffy, nice steering wheel! Only I did see one like that just the other day. Ha!! I think you're right about it being the only one like it in the world. In addition to determination and perseverance is "don't be afraid to fail". I don't know about you but I f'd up a whole lot of stuff!:) Here in Wisconsin our weather can vary 100 F in a year. -20 F is not uncommon in the winter with temps occasionally reaching 100 F in the summer. My shop is unheated so I watch RUclips videos when the temps are below 10F and above 90 F. Love to watch and learn !!:)
Quite a chore you set for yourself on this steering wheel. Looks great! I’m glad you put this up. I’ve been wanting to get a better look at that wheel. Nice,
With a steering wheel that heavy the front axel doesn't need to steer, Just crank that sucker and the sheer mass weight will move you. But then you may being donuts forever . Great content! TC, Silicon Valley.
Add patience to your list.Slow and steady will usually win the race or get the job done. Positive attitude is also essential. Your work demonstrates all of those attributes. Always enjoy your channel. Cheers!
That's one awesome steering wheel and well made and yes the wheel is on the wrong side but here in the jungle in South Africa 🇿🇦 we do everything on the wrong side 🤣
You are most probably the only person in the world that reused that little round bit of steel for the middle of the steering wheel! Epic! It looks absolutely amazing! Electricory 🤣
Been watching you for awhile now Div very much love the content and your ways of creativity that ratrod you built was sick can't wait to see the next build series you rock mate
I really enjoy watching you create something unique and custom by using some basic materials, as well as scrap parts! Genius!! I was wondering how that wheel would look with an added piece of round rod, in the center, between the outer pieces of rod. It would cover the two holes. As a matter of fact it could be plug welded from the back with a few more holes drilled in. Thanks for posting!
How do you make a unique steering wheel????? You Neek up on it. oh that was bad. Anyway, Love how it turned out. An unconventional but classic work of art.
I love this channel !!!!!!! Have never seen anyone attempt a customized steering wheel ! I loved the wisdom of your motto as well. It's 10 deg. F with 7 inches of snow here in central US today. (No flip-flops or plunge pools here right now) You make me want to go to the shop so much !!!! Your creativity continues to impress !!!!!!
Yeah starting at the bottom and working your way up takes time.and if you don't use it you will lose it. The steering wheel looks great looks like your trade mark now. Your a wood crafter too you should show it off in your rod's. Take care. Div.
Damn, that turned out nice! I have a reproduction 40’s wheel on my ‘46 truck, but if you sold those steering wheels, I think I’d buy one from you, it’s awesome!
Make sure your hands are clean after eating that Vegemite toast. Those grooves are gonna collect crud. What about filling them in with leather or colored epoxy?
You are having way too much fun here to call this work! But, after all, isn't that the idea? I would add a spring loaded "Crank Rod" on the front next. Just to witness how many try it. A push button on the dash marked "Horn" but push to operate the starter. This is bring out the 10 year old in me and you as well. But I did see a naked steering wheel during this episode. I also like your "Albert Einstein picture/poster in the background. Just tell everyone that this is your cousin who had a hard go at it! ❤ May your thanksgiving turkey be easier to chew than old steering wheel plastic. WoW, who knew. If they fenders from that plastic, they would never sell another vehicle! DK. Omaha, NE. USA. ❤
very well detailed 👌🏼👌🏼a question? did you change the dashboard? or is that cabin from a f600 truck? because that dashboard is from an f600 truck the f100 pick up has a different dashboard 🤔 or maybe they came out in africa like they did in brazil
Persistence is definitely the key to success ⚡️
Looks good 🍺
Good looking steering wheel
What a vision you have ! Great 👍
Thank you! 🙂
Nice steering wheel now !
Thank you!
Very cool!
Thanks Jim

Use a coat hanger and weld on gap
But I like the gaps 😅
Div that steering wheel came out perfect. the one and only one, of a kind.
Thank you Ron, glad you like it too!😁
Quite a chore you set for yourself on this steering wheel. Looks great! I’m glad you put this up. I’ve been wanting to get a better look at that wheel. Nice,

It's kinda like poor man's power steering!😂
That is one unique steering wheel. I like it !
Thank you Fraser! And not really difficult to make, just time consuming 😅

Thank you. Yes, persistence is impossible without patience 😅
Some of those steel balls starting small and bigger as you go would look cool
And so we can expand on the idea!
That's one awesome steering wheel and well made and yes the wheel is on the wrong side but here in the jungle in South Africa 🇿🇦 we do everything on the wrong side 🤣
Thanks buddy! Yes sir, in Africa everything is on the wrong side and upside down 😂
I don't like tea. LOL But I do like that steering wheel. Thanks for doing your videos I look forward to seeing them.

I really like your steering wheel. A lot of work, but worth it.
Thanks!👍
Cool Steering wheel, what did You do about a Horn?
Thanks! I have an overhead switch, with a handle that you pull. Like the big rigs!😅
Hey thanks for the idea to reuse what you already have.
My pleasure
Excellent workmanship 👍🛠
Thanks for the compliment Terry!
You are most probably the only person in the world that reused that little round bit of steel for the middle of the steering wheel! Epic! It looks absolutely amazing! Electricory 🤣
I'm probably also the only person in the world that would spend so much time on a frigging steering wheel!😂
Wow, LOOKS AWESOME. Haven't seen that one before. Compliments the truck nicely.
Thanks ISH! Trust you making headway on your build brother.
@@ratrodsafrica Yes Div, Mounted the radiator and now busy with the brake booster and pedal assembly.
The rat rod thing isn't my style but that wheel is a proper bit of functional sculpture. Very cool!
Thank you Mr Ekim! Maybe with time I can get you to like the ratty shit too!😅
@@ratrodsafrica Ha ha, you'll need to start early and work late!
Very cool.
Thank you Victor!
Looks great
Hudson time 👍

I like that you use material you have instead of just buying something that anybody can get. Very creative. New to your channel and subscribed.

The steering wheel is on the wrong side.
Greetings from USA🇺🇸
😂 Damn, I didn't notice!
man i really enjoyed watching this, steering wheel matches perfectly to the rest of the truck too..very cool!
You should make a steering wheel out of a chainsaw chain as a gag gift for one of your friends.
It’s a real work of art, always enjoy the special touches! You are going to have a spectacular vehicle when it’s all done!
Thank you very much! It's the small touches that makes the difference, dont you think?

I 100% agree with you Div.! you really are a glutton for punishment, who thrives on creating hours of tedious work for yourself..!😂😂
😂 Still beats shit like mowing the lawn!
Looks good but what about the horn button?
Thanks. Got myself a big air horn, so decided to do a overhead pull switch thingy, 18 wheeler style!😆
A person would have to have some serious calluses on thier hands to grip that during the south African summer.
I do!😁
Damn, that turned out nice! I have a reproduction 40’s wheel on my ‘46 truck, but if you sold those steering wheels, I think I’d buy one from you, it’s awesome!

Make sure you ware insulated gloves before you grab that steering wheel on those 110deg F days.. 😊
No need, my welder hands are like leather!😂
Make sure your hands are clean after eating that Vegemite toast. Those grooves are gonna collect crud. What about filling them in with leather or colored epoxy?
I'm happy with the grooves as they are😆
@@ratrodsafrica That's why we have wire brushes, eh?✌

Stainless is the way to go.
wow
Very cool, but ya put it on the wrong side of the car !?
I thought something was wrong...😂
Hi oem Div what welder are you using for body work is it gas or no gas mig
MIG with Argoshield 5 gas. Those fluxcore setups doesn't work for me. Too messy, lots of spatter and you gotta chip flux
