    Every tool has a different use. You can hammer a nail in with a screwdriver, but it works better with a hammer. Same for blending tools. I would like to try the new domed sponges. They look like a great addition to the tool box.

      Hi, Marthina. Welcome to a great hobby. One little tip i got from seasoned crafters...use a piece of scrap paper (rather than putting your fingers directly on the paper you're inking) to hold down the paper you're inking. This will keep your fingers clean and keep fingerprints off your project.

      Hi, Mel. Welcome to a great hobby. May I pass along a little helpful hint that I wish someone had given me when I started? If you have all the money in the world, you're set. But if you're on a bit of a budget, you can get cheaper versions of sooo many tools. There are lots of ways to save money and still have all the toys you want. For instance... these lovely stencil brushes. They work really well, but most of them are kind of pricey. I mean no disrespect to Scrapbook.com, but I went to my dollar store, got makeup brushes and they work just as well. Instead of $25, I paid $1. Just keep that in mind while you're building your stash. Hope you have lots of fun.

      FunctionofLight One , thank you. I have bought some cheaper stuff I just don’t know yet what I should spend the real money on and what I can get away with using less expensive items.

    • @functionoflightone
      @functionoflightone 4 года назад

      @@mellightbody8212 I'll share a little more and then I'll stop before I start sounding like a creepy stalker or something.(grin) Another "wish I'd known". 1) Unless it's something you're dying for it, don't pay full retail. Almost everything will go on sale. 2) If it's your first time using it, don't buy it in every color. Give yourself a chance to see if you like it first. 3) Discover how YOU work and what YOUR style is before you make big investments. You may find that the big, new thing that everyone is buying doesn't fit you at all. 4) Consider joining a craft list online... they are great sources of information for where to buy good things at the best price, etc.
      That's it. Again, I wish you a jolly good time playing in the ink and paper and making a grand mess!!!

    I really have enjoyed this video. In fact, I have watched it about three times. I am trying to figure out why your domed blending pads wear out so fast. I do a lot of edge-work and I know that will wear them down faster than if I am using them as a blending tool. But they wear out 2x's faster than even the generic flat ones. Any advice would be appreciated. I love them for blending and making backgrounds they are a really great product.

    The long bristle brush us fantastic. You don't think you need it, then one day you pick it up, use it, and WOW.
    The "Life Changing" brushes from picket fence are the EXACT same thing as $6 brush set from Amazon. Seriously. No joke. I have both and I'm a bit disgusted at what I paid for the picket fence ones.
    The mermaid ink is soooooo pretty! The Scrapbook dot com inks are GOOD.

      I bought the picket fence brushes too & feel the same way - I came across a video where the girl demo'd the picket fence & the $6 set from Amazon and I was not happy with what I saw......I feel disgusted by the amount of $$ they cost...it's ridiculous!

    • @mpbailey18
      @mpbailey18 4 года назад +1

      There was NO way I'd pay that exorbitant price Picket Fence is charging for the similar brushes costing under $15 on Amazon. These things all are made in China....and from what many, many people have said, the "makeup brushes are SO similar in every way! I bought a set for under $12 and am very impressed with them.

      Julie Army Mom yep! It gets me so angry at the price. They are the same brushes and the reason they are in many sizes is that they are make up brushes that have been re-marketed as craft brushes at a ridiculous price. I’d bet they’re made in the same factory, just put in a different box 😡 people can save a fortune and get the make up ones.
