Just came across your channel and subscribed! Awesome videos-I’m wishing our season wasn’t over with. My husband and I have two CRF300L Rally’s. Amazing little bikes. This year we rode ours from Idaho to Las Vegas-an epic trip. Like you, was always surprised when I could pass someone on the highway. Forget it if there was a headwind though. 😂 We just invested in a dog carrier and a trailer so we can head across the country next year with our dog. We pack all of our camping gear, hence the need for luggage room. We ordered a small clip-on windshield for the faring and it cut down on wind noise substantially. Highly recommend. All the best and thank you so much for sharing your journey. EPIC! Makes me smile!
I haven't used the zumo xt, but I can comment on the montana. It's bulky, waterproof and has a tough cradle that can power the unit. I would say if you're only using a gps on a motorcycle the zumo looks like it'd be fine. The montana might have the edge if you are also off-roading, camping and exploring etc. The interface feels pretty dated though. Hope that helps.
Thanks. There's a horizontal bar above the dash on the Honda,.so I'm using Ram hardware to attach the Garmin Rugged Mount, which is powered off the ignition.
Nice, I like your style. I live in The Dalles, Oregon so I’m very familiar with your route. Do you carry camping gear? Is the 300 enough for the highway?
Hi, I'm not carrying camping equipment...which will prove to be an issue later. 60mph is relatively comfortable with luggage. 70mph is the max, so on a busy highway you really do have to keep an eye on the mirrors.
Yes, it's the stock seat. It is narrow and the edges seem to taper down sharply but I got used to it. Nowhere near the comfort of a Suzuki V-Strom 650 seat though.

Привет из России. Хороших дорог тебе мотобрат.
My 300L is amazing. I can’t believe how capable it is!! (non-rally version)
Rally version is more capable by far .
Whats your thoughts on the garmin montana 700i? I'm torn between that unit and the zumo xt.

Love the series. How do you mount your GPS to the windscreen? I need to do something like that on my XT.

@@scotbike Didn't realize the rally had that, very nice.

@@scotbike I slapped a 20 dollar seat pad/cover from Wallyworld on mine with some paracord .
were those the grip puppy grips?
These are generic grips, although I have used the grip puppy ones before and can recommend them.
@@scotbike Thanks for response! hairspray work alright or would something like dish soap work better perhaps?
@@CoastlinesCollide No problem. Hairspray works, but it also evaporates. Dish soap should work, but harder to clean up.
@@CoastlinesCollide i put them on with shaving cream, works well.
Darn was hoping for a Miami vice response to that Miami style turn 😊
