I see not everyone can be pleased with the way the music is done...I have been playing in church for 60 years...I love this new beat....This music glorifies God!!! We ought to do the very best we can!!! Dallas First Baptist has some of the greatest talented musicians in all the world...why not use their talents to glorify God???? DFB....You have my vote!!! When I read the upcoming title, I was looking forward to the song I remember. “Victory in Jesus”always got an enthusiastic response, especially when “Miss” Virginia sang the descant part in the Chorus. Am I remembering this correctly? This was a response to a comment about previous song, Victory in Jesus.
Why can't we sing this hymn with the same beat as in the hymnal? Would it not be impressive enough for young people? I'm getting old and miss how our old hymns sounded.
You are right . I have a hymnal .... I play the guitar and stick with traditional meter . Not all this stuff. It doesn't glorify God. It glorifies man.
Although the Church wants to be relevant to all generations, it shouldn't overshadow the doctrinal lyrics of hymns with driving beats and funky syncopation in the attempt of trying to be "hip and relevant." Some things should be left alone and enjoyed in their purity (i.e. hymns).
They ruin the song by adding the sexy rock beat of satan's world. Satan's beat of the rock industry of sex, drugs and satanism. Why can they not simply have the choir sing in all loveliness are we are to dwell on all that is lovely, not the vileness of the sensual world of satan? I have no desire to listen when they add the world's beat and make a Hollywood/rock stage production as they perform with some of their music. Sad! Come quickly LORD Jesus who is all chaste purity, innocence, holy separation! He is untainted by worldly pride and showmanship. He is meek and lowly of heart. He has nothing to do with show-off your talent like the wicked shows of television and movies. My Jesus Christ is the Christ of the Bible, not the false jesus of entertainment. There was a time when choir lofts were set in the back of the church. There was no attention drawn to the people singing. It all should focus on our innocent and humble Christ alone and with no sexy, worldly beat that is not of God. And the unsaved see through this charade and have spoken of how ridiculous it is that the church has become a worldly stage.

You are right. Sounds much much better in the original beat. This modern beat takes the stuffing out of the song.
