Triple triangle frames are one of the most polarizing designs in the bike world. Once you see it, you immediately know whether you love it or hate it. But what's the point of triple triangles? Are the actually stiffer, faster, and stronger than traditional diamond frames? Let's find out the pros and cons of triple triangle bike frames in this fixed gear bike check of the Vendetta Triplet.
Thanks to Jazzton Rodriguez from Oklahoma City for sharing this bike!
How to have your fixed gear featured:
    1. Email me your extensive parts list: iam@zachgallardo.com with BIKE CHECK in subject line. Include your Instagram handle if you want to be tagged.
    2. Tell me your bike's story. Bikes with cool stories are more likely to have bike checks made than bling but boring bikes without a story.
    3. Send me your 1080p or 4k video files via Google Drive or Dropbox. Video files must be:
    1) 10-15 seconds long each
    2) have as little camera movement as possible (little camera shake, no pans/zooms, be horizontal DUH!)
    3) 20-25 different shots with 3 shots of your complete bike is a good amount.
    4. Keep in mind I'll run ads on the video to help cover the cost of producing the bike checks. Gotta stay fed.
    5. Follow this carefully. Bike checks either get made the right way or not at all.

You forgot to mention that the longer seatstays in the triple triangle configuration allow for a wider rear tire clearance while remaining straight. Straight seatstays = strong and light seatstays. Wider tire clearance = profit.

Older rider here: I restore and ride early 90s steel frame GT mountain bikes. That triple frame gives you a bit of flex when riding a trail...makes the ride comfortable. Unlike the aluminum versions of GT triple frames that don't...but that's my opinion. Nice bike btw.

The biggest advantage for me is enhanced compliance on my GT bike. Those two side tubes (sorry, I dont know the correct English name) connect directly to the main tube, not being connected to the seat tube at all. They are made of some kind of fiber glass, so they are really stiff in horizontal direction but allow the rear wheel to be comfortable on bumpy roads.

While I agree the example image you showed for rear brake routing does look a little funny, I don't get the explanation. At 4:39 you reference the "sharper angle" of the seat stays, but if anything the cable housing is actually making **less** sharp of a turn -- with a standard double triangle frame, the seat stays would be closer to vertical, so the housing would be making a sharper turn from the horizontal top tube. If anything, I've run into issues on double triangle frames where my brake cable housing runs into interference with the seat post binder bolt at the "traffic jam" at the seat stay cluster, which a triple triangle would avoid (but this is more of a practical issue than an aesthetic one).

I ride a poloandbike. Aside the silly name, It's clear that the third triangle doesn't offer any practical advantage. Still, its a sweet ride to get for a price below State cycles and such, as it seems to achieve a good compromise between stiffness and compliance for the road thanks to its oversized cromoly tubing and carbon fork. For a cheap bike that is not crap at all, the third triangle is just a little bonus in eccentricity I guess.

i dont think seated stiffness is worth much. this is why frames have shortened the seat tube which also shortens the seat stays to get that stiffer effect with reduction of weight. the top tube will be slightly longer but a longer stem can make up for it. stiffness only really matters when sprinting and sprinting is done off the saddle so theres no point to have a stiffer seat post thats all this design does.
