    I am born and raised in Canada and let me tell you, it is EXPENSIVE to live here! My half-brother lives in the States and he always complains how expensive it is when he comes to visit me. Everything here whether it be goods, property, etc., you are paying three times more than in the States. Immigrants think when they come here, they are going to live a good life. A lot of them are sadly mistaken how hard it is to live here.

      Yet both Canada and UK are vastly more socially advanced than the United States. The US is about to turn into a right wing hellscape, imo

      Interesting because even with Canada slipping 2 spots in Happiness Rankings, they are still 2 spots ahead of the US by 2 and is way a head of the US in terms of places to live. Since both countries are large, although the US way more populous, there are likely variations in regions and cities.

    These are not illegal immigrants. These are legal immigrants who were lured to Canada based on their skill set/university degrees under the guise that Canada needs their skills and will provide them with better wages. When they arrive to Canada they are told that whilst they do have degrees from reputable universities overseas they still need to be re-trained in the Canadian way, which takes years and is expensive. Also, their work experience overseas is not acknowlwdged as they do not have Canadian work experience. Some decide to stay and drive buses. Others opt to return to thei homelands and continue with their trade/profession there.

    • @4evahodlingdoge226
      @4evahodlingdoge226 10 месяцев назад +1

      Yup and it's probably the older folk who have years of experience under their belt and was middle class back home, the younger ones will get the retraining as they have the youth and vigor to do it + nothing to go back home to.

      @FallacyAsPraxis 10 месяцев назад +8

      They were not "lured", they were presented with an opportunity (which they could have refused). It's ALWAYS the responsibility of the principal to do their due diligence.
      Canada is one country. There are well over 200 other countries that educated professionals can try to move to if the immigration laws permit. Why complain if YOU decided to stay in Canada and drive a bus instead of being a doctor or engineer in your homeland? If you want to be a doctor in Canada then you have to meet the Canadian requirements for being a doctor. Its VERY strange that immigrants are finding this out only after they move to Canada. Do these issues/questions not get asked/discussed before they make the move? If not, why not? Come on now, we are intelligent people. The white man cannot be blamed for poor decision making on our part.

As more people are coming to Alberta, the problem that they were facing in Ontario happened exactly the same. Now, in Alberta, housing has become more unaffordable. It's simply about supply and demand theory. Moving to another province is not the answer, but the government must provide more affordable housing so people can stay wherever they live now.

    Canada is a springboard to populate the USA. In fact, many immigrants to Canada come from this country only to obtain citizenship and a Canadian passport. Once they have obtained these two documents, they request immigration to the USA and obtain it very quickly. The two countries, Canada and the USA, began the process of immigration to Canada in 1867 at the same time as populating this continent in 1820. The total population of USA in 2023 is 339,996,563 people. The total population of Canada in 2023 is 40.77 million. Justin Trudeau's father Pierre Elliote Trudeau, former Prime Minister of Canada from 1968 to 1979 and from 1980 to 1984, politician, writer wanted to increase the population of Canada to 50 million but did not succeed.

    $1500 canadian for a 1 bedroom is expensive? Good luck trying to live in the Caribbean which is in the developing world with housing being just as expensive and salaries 20% that of Canada.
