I think most Maiden fans will recognise the 2001 Brave New World Rio appearance one of their classic gigs. A band that had fought through a sticky 90's period and were reborn and energized by the return of Bruce and Adrian. The only minor negative about the gig was the bands official DVD of the gig which was over edited by Steve Harris
Yeah, in the final mix Bruce's voice was put over many parts where the crowd sang, mostly at The Clansman and Fear Of The Dark...also the instruments, that were already pretty loud at the concert, got even louder at both CD and DVD

First RIR lineup is unbeatable. Most important rock bands at their peaks were there: Iron Maiden - World Slavery Tour / Scorpions - World Wide Live tour / Queen - A Kind of Magic tour / AC/DC - Flick of the Switch tour / Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon tour / Whitesnake - Slide It In tour / Yes - 90125 tour and so on... Because of the lack of know-how in creating a massive festival in Brazil, after almost 40 years It's still unbelievable how Roberto Medina could make that happen
Great video, O have 53years old, Iam from Brazil, Sao Paulo, in 85 I was a Huge Maiden fan, it was the best show ever. My first concert of Maiden was in 92 . The Maiden England tour is ‘the one that got away’ - the only tour I’ve missed since 2003. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son live 😭 magnificent! That 2001 RiR show is absolutely outstanding! One of their best ever, perhaps?
Saw Maiden in Rio in 2019. Was a total dream come true to travel to South America from Northern Ireland to see them. They do just get better with age and the 2018/19 were among some of the best shows they have done. Saw them 10 times in Europe in 2022 just to be on the safe side 😉
Iron Maiden was introduced to a whole new crowd back in 1985 (mind you, Brasil had just gotten out of a long lasting dictatorship who wasn't very fond of rock music). Only hardcore rock fans actually knew them by then. After Rock In Rio, they became gigantic in South America, one of Brazil's most beloved bands ever. For a country this big, it's quite an achievement. But the stars aligned for a band that was on the top of their game (and we're talking about possibly the best live band ever) and a country that was absolutely hungry for live music.

Hii! I'm brazilian and I can assure you, we all sing our favorite's bands songs in English in every concert! We're a very passionate crowd, no wonder so many bands love coming to perform here for us! 😃I went to see Iron Maiden this year with my family, we all sang the songs along with the whole stadium, it was epic! You should see more concerts with brazilian fans haha, we're very passionate about our favorite bands! 😄
I've seen Maiden 5 times. The 1st time was when they opened for Priest. In 82. With Clive Burr which was amazing. The rest was with nicko... And also amazing. Iron Maiden is the most amazing metal band to ever take the stage ... .
At 37 years old I only discovered Iron Maiden this year, sadly... why, Why, WHY?!?! They almost instantly became me and my boyfriend's favorite band. We have like 20+ favorite songs.. (so far because we haven't heard all the songs yet) which never happened to us before with any other band. We were lucky enough to get tickets to their show in Ottawa last September. Even if we were very very far, it was the best show of our lives! I know they are not very young anymore but we're really hoping to see more shows from them in the next years, hopefully they can come to Québec this time. :) From what I've seen on YT, my fav Rock In Rio performance would be the one in 2001. I love the "Brave New World" video. So much energy! 🤩
You're the best Metal youtuber on the internet. Cheers from Rio de Janeiro friend!🤘 My favorite concert is Rio de Janeiro 1992 Fear of the Dark Tour at Maracananzinho!!!
I was there 🙌 2022, moshpit was wild from fear of the dark and so on, I wished they played more songs for moshpit, but was like 7/15, it was good too, next concert I'll go again and again
Nice video. My first Heavy Metal Show was in Rock in Rio 2001 with Maiden, Halford and Sepultura. Nice memories. Just one detail, on Rock in Rio 2017, only Sepultura played as Heavy Metal band.
I was lucky enough to see the Legacy of the Beast #1 before COVID. And WOW YES, go see it. It's in my hometown on 9/17... but I'm recovering from surgeries so I am missing it :(. Glad I saw it the first time, but seeing Senjutsu stuff would have been great!
I'm 41 years old, and I have been listening IM since I was 15. I think that Iron Maiden has no idea how people like them in Brazil and South America. I went to their show in 1998, and now 2022.
The only Rock in Rio performance that I've had the pleasure of seeing in full was the DVD release of their 2001 concert. Considering that Brave New World is one of my favorite Maiden albums, I don't know if seeing the first 1985 performance or their later appearances would satisfy me as much as seeing songs like the Wicker Man and Dream of Mirrors played in front of that enormous crowd.
Thank you for sharing this with us. Iron Maiden were in our area(Tulsa, OK USA)last night. Unfortunately, we were there noble to attend due to my health( I have Parkinson’s and MRSA). However, our love and prayers are with you and your beloved country. We subscribed to your channel earlier this year. God bless you!🎧🙏🏻 #Ukraine🇺🇦
I saw the world slavery tour 1985 at the Lakeland Civic center in Lakeland Florida, I was 17 a senior in high school I saw the next two as well somewhere back in time and seventh son. And no prayer for the dying Bruce got sick and they didn't play. And then they never came back to FLA until 2008 in fort Lauderdale somewhere back in time. The 2019 legacy of the beast setlist was the best- It felt like the piece of mind tour that I missed in 84.
Rock in Rio 1985, (if you watch it carefully) is funny as Hell. Everything from a Pyro miss cue (Powerslave) to Dickinson running about with Murray on his Sholders, tripping up, and throwing Murray into the Sidefill Monitor Speakers. Dickinson has to stamp out a small Fire, on the set during the beginning of Powerslave. Way way back, Maiden were really clumsy on Stage, and were always bumping into each other.

@@AnaLugia256 thumbs-up for being the best live audience in the world 👍
Saw them on the 2nd of July in Cologne.
It was amazing as always.
Still that 2001 RiR gig is still my favourite.
Tulsa Oklahoma, first to the barrier fan club winner! Up the Irons from the front row! I could die right now and still resurrect in time for the show!
Seeing them October 27 in Tampa. 1st time!!
I've seen Maiden 5 times. The 1st time was when they opened for Priest. In 82. With Clive Burr which was amazing. The rest was with nicko... And also amazing. Iron Maiden is the most amazing metal band to ever take the stage ...
.
Loved the legacy of the beast tour! And I already have tickets for next year that the O2 arena in London! Stay safe!
I'll be seeing them here in San Diego (Chula Vista) can't wait! my first time in about 30 years!
My first concert was the Massachusetts show you mentioned on this tour.
Nice! I lived in MA for a while ;)
Me too! I was a little kid. Manemet.
My husband and I went to Paris in June for the Legacy of the Beast tour….absolutely brilliant and it was our 1st time ever….UP THE IRONS 🤘🫶🤘
Just saw them in Worcester, MA on Monday. A+ show!!
Saw them for the 3rd time here in El Paso, TX. It was an amazing show
At 37 years old I only discovered Iron Maiden this year, sadly... why, Why, WHY?!?! :)
From what I've seen on YT, my fav Rock In Rio performance would be the one in 2001.
Just saw them in Newark, NJ! I’ve loved Iron Maiden since I was a kid, up the irons 🤘
I was there 🙌 2022, moshpit was wild from fear of the dark and so on, I wished they played more songs for moshpit, but was like 7/15, it was good too, next concert I'll go again and again
I was at the rock in rio shows in 2013 and 2022 it was spectacular.
I’m seeing iron maiden on October 12th in Hamilton Ontario 🤘🤘
Nice video. My first Heavy Metal Show was in Rock in Rio 2001 with Maiden, Halford and Sepultura. Nice memories.
Just one detail, on Rock in Rio 2017, only Sepultura played as Heavy Metal band.
Got my tickets today for the Spokane WA show!!! Very excited
I’m from El Paso Tx, Saw Iron Maiden 3 times on this tour.
El Paso Tx.
Austin Tx.
Denver Co.
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I was lucky enough to see the Legacy of the Beast #1 before COVID. And WOW YES, go see it. It's in my hometown on 9/17... but I'm recovering from surgeries so I am missing it :(. Glad I saw it the first time, but seeing Senjutsu stuff would have been great!
I'm 41 years old, and I have been listening IM since I was 15. I think that Iron Maiden has no idea how people like them in Brazil and South America. I went to their show in 1998, and now 2022.
Yes, Seeing Iron Maiden ont eh Beast Tour was definitely worth it!!
My first Maiden show was at Rock in Rio. January 11, 1985
I just watched IM in Denver this past Saturday. FANTASTIC.
But my nephew saw them in Rock'n'Rio couple of weeks ago.
Boomers Rock!
This Monday (September 19) Salt Lake City. This will be my 5th Maiden show!
I was at the Brixton Academy in 2001 for one of the Clive Burr MS trust fund shows. Phenomenal night! \m/
Saw Maiden in Spokane, Washington, for their first time since 1988!
I saw every tour , and loved it
Mexico City!!! 65,000 strong!! biggest show on the tour
love your content brother ! Can’t wait for Detroit show Oct 9th 🤘
300.000 people in the first edition in 1985, and 250.000 at the 3rd edition in 2001 (and I was there in 2001🤘🏼)!
Cada show com sua singularidade estive no show de 2001 foi magnífico ! ganhou um inscrito no canal !
I went to the rock in rio festival this year to see Iron Maiden 😄🤟
I saw them on July 29th in Barcelona with other 47,000 people. It was my 5th time (4 in Barcelona where I live, 1 in Madrid).
Just seen them 4 days ago here in Denver Colorado 🤘🏽🤘🏽💪🏽💪🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
